Has anyone seen much of Grealish when he's not acting as the team's catalyst? The role he plays at Villa is the role DeBruyne plays for us, can't see him ousting KDB, could he play with him?

He has one less assist in the Prem than Kev this season, but one more goal. I agree, he’s more of a KDB than a Sterling. Or even a Gundo like PP says. But he’d be literally our main signing - near £100m! We’re covered for his position, I’d rather spend the money elsewhere.

Maybe less. The Douglas Luiz buyback is still active.

£25m buy back - Villa could get £100m from a team like the Rags and buy two Douglas Luiz’s if that’s what they wanted. Even at £75m (if Villa took the buy back in to account) it’s still an extremely high price for someone that plays a position we already have enough cover for.

I agree with that. Unless he’s happy to go with Cancelo at LB next season - but I’d prefer he got in a proper left back.

If we could have convinced Alaba to come (looks like he’s going to Real judging by what I saw they offered him this morning, plus D Luiz we’d have covered two of those positions for £25m.

He's 18 and in his first season and from what I've read and heard, we're happy to loan him back for a season. We have another trump card which may oil the wheels or help us get him cheaper. Pedro Porro is on loan there and has just been called up to the Spain squad. He's a 21 year old rb so not much hope of him getting games here with Cancelo and Walker ahead of him so maybe a straight swap. Maybe Aké is going to be another option.

Still not sure about H, mind ; about how he'd fit in as a team player, salary structure, etc.
His successor at Salzburg has been mentioned - Zambian kid , 20 odd goals in 18 games - OK, yes , it's The Austrian league. I've just got reservations about eggs & baskets with Alfie Jr. - suppose we get him & it doesn't work out - injury / team fit/ etc. ?
