Appreciation post!

The little man captained his country last night for the first time. What an honour it must have been for him and well deserved.

Bought for a fee in the region of £1 million - I think it’s fair to say we have got our monies worth. He looks like a great guy to have around the squad and everyone seems to like him.

Agree. In that book about Pep that i mentioned to you, they speak very highly of him. Laporte says that he is always sending them his mad extra training workouts to the team whatsapp gtoup
Lesson to Mendy here, the boy came here at a young age with no English and has worked his bollocks off to play out of position in an all conquering team.
Fair play to him, never going to be first name on the teamsheet but consistently gives his all and that is all he can do

That’s it. And you look back at the great teams of old - they always had 2-3 players that weren’t first names on the team sheet, but they knew their role and they were happy to be part of the club. We need players like that.

I also love the fact that when it occasionally kicks off he’s not afraid to stick up for himself or a teammate.

Watched the first half of this game with half an eye yesterday. Zinch was taking his role seriously and was doing more pointing than running :-)

Nah, I'm made up for the lad to be honest.

Top post Noolie, I remember you standing up for him recently when he was being slagged by all and sundry on here.

I've said it many times, his skills are far from this squad, but when it comes to heart, he is top on my list.
I have no doubt he can be a fantastic captain here because he is vocal, smart and plays his heart out.

If Mendy had 5% of Zinch he would have been actually a fantastic player.

Absolutely Mase. I had hoped we might have had one or two of his ilk coming through the Academy. Guys who know they are not going to be first choice but who also know they will play a healthy number of games with rotation and/or injuries and when they do come in they give 100% and never cause ructions behind the scenes.

Tommy Doyle and Rory Delap are the two guys I hope will turn out like Zinch has done and there may be some others

Pity his wife is a bit mouthy!

Valuable squad member and a great second choice left back assuming we have a quality first choice.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
