Yeah. And he's also the only one who didn't live locally before being hired, it would seem.

Zaba or NQDP?

Both.

:D :D :D :D

All they need is to give me a call. PM will do fine as well.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

"Coming here"
None of the mentioned just started out with the first team. Wilcox was ONE of was it U15 coaches before taking U18's and eventually becoming Academy director. Taylor got sent somewhere completely out of the radar and somehow worked so hard that he was invited back. Kennedy worked his way through the coaching ranks the hard way.

IF Zabaleta is willing to work with U12's or go to Melbourne or China to learn his new job then absolutely. If he wants to be one of the ambassadors then cool. If Girona has coaching spot, coolio.

Where did Zaba claim to want to work with the first team straight away?

Coaching some kids at Girona seems like a perfect fit for a man who's happy living in Barcelona. I can't think of any reason at all why he'd want to move to Manchester to 'meet and greet' corporate bods in the Colin Bell Stand. I suspect the era of top players seeking out that sort of role ended around the time crap players started getting £50,000 per week.
All we are saying is give Doug a pass.

I can’t imagine players like Shaun Wright-Phillips doing his ambassador role for the money mate.

Yeah,
In general even average Premier League player will make generational wealth and Championship player will live very comfortable life even if they did nothing for the rest of their days. Provided they can take care of their money even adequately. Those ambassador roles are for ex-legends who live in the area and would attend the games anyway.

If you are serious about going into coaching you need to find a path where you are doing it 100%. In fact most players who are used to "morning training, afternoon training, games on saturday and occasionally wednesday and day off after that, month and a half off during the summer" routine are shocked how much time coaching, never mind being a manager, actually takes. It's 24 hours a day job really. I know some professional coaches and that's basically all they ever do. They have no hobbies and precious little time for their families.

Maybe at the end of June, when my kids have finished school and we have a better picture of the pandemic, that will be the moment for me to decide. I spent nine years at #ManCity. I liked the people at the club and I would be so happy to go back in some role. There are so many areas within a football club. Maybe if there was a possibility to work for the club and continue to live in Spain, that would be good for me personally and professionally. I have done my B licence and had a few calls from different managers asking me to join their staff. But it wasn't the right moment. I am open to different situations, but my family is happy and settled in Barcelona so maybe a role that allows me to work from here is possible. England is only two hours away on a plane so once we are free to travel again the options will become clearer."

Sort it, City.
Needs to happen.

Why does it need to happen?

Because he is a club legend, a person that could help us off the pitch.
Because he is a smart fella & a City fan.

I love Zabba too but theres no proof that he is a good coach, not that I've seen anyway.

Remember when some wanted Vieira to be our manager :?

How could there be proof of him being a good coach though? He’s not coached. Only one, risk free, way of finding out.
