Is Tierney the one that was getting skinned left and right when we played them the other week?
He has a worse overall rating on WhoScored than Zinch!

Would be a big upgrade in Mendy?

He plays at right back though and we are well covered in that position. It's a shame we can't get hold of Saka at Arsenal and convert him in to a left back.

I think the other fella, Tierney, would be a fantastic signing.

I would honestly love an answer from someone at City as to why we have a relationship with Celtic which sees us loan the players and selling players on the cheap (we get a % of the sell on), and they missed VVD and Tierney right under our noses. We even sent two Denayer and Boyata to Celtic to play alongside VVD, I'd like to know which loan scout/manager failed to spot the bleedin obvious.

The same goes for Tierney, especially after he tore us apart as a kid in the CL. Arsenal would be well within their rights to ask for £70m+ for him now.

This is something that has puzzled me too - Celtic are traditionally friendly with other clubs in these parts (eg - Crerand/Dalgleish) so our link with them was breaking new ground - no quid pro is evident though - unless it was that neither VVD or Tierney left Parkhead for either of them.

Simply outstanding from every defender today. The blocks, the awareness, the covering for each other, the belief in themselves and their team mates, the discipline. But the icing on the cake is the way they celebrate every tackle, every block, every broken down attack. Simply joyous to see

Normally , you don't celebrate defending - you just get on with it.

I think is was more to do with winding up the opposition, so that they all lose it , which they clearly did.

We were defending from the front so well in the last quarter hour they couldn't get out of their penalty area in one spell.

Normally, you are right that defending is a job and defenders just get on with it.

But for me, a CL semi final is not a normal game and to see the passion the said defenders showed time and again during the match when they repelled PSG was superb to see. They celebrated as much as the fans at home and to see that level of passion and commitment just seeps through the rest of the squad. It underpins everything the club is and stands for. No prima donnas here. Just an ethos of solid hard work and desire and respect for your team mates.

I am loving it myself, especially the bromance between Dias and Stones and when they both rushed to Zinchenko after he blocked an effort in the second half it spoke volumes about the team.
