Nathan Ake's Father RIP

Postby stevefromdonny » Thu Sep 16, 2021 4:45 pm

I am just reading the sad news that Nathan Ake's Dad died just minutes after he scored that goal last night. What tragic news for the lad.

Condolences to him and his family and RIP Mr. Ake. So sad.

I also wonder if the club kept it from him or someone told him, maybe that's why his mind wasn't on the game

Saw this earlier but for some weird reason I couldn't post.

Hope that his Dad got to see his first chumps league goal, doubt he will but like Ake said these things are meant to be. Sad stuff indeed.

Horrible stuff. Was probably celebrating the goal so at least he went out in euphoria.

Thoughts go out to the Ake family.

The club wouldnt keep something like that from a player - remember how they handled Dave Silva and his baby.
Ake had some balls to play knowing his dad was dying, I couldn't have done it.

It must not have been easy for him to play the other night under such circumstances.
Well done to him, a young man of character.
