Loved the one in 94, one of the very best.
& Mexico - 48 teams = overload

48 teams! There's only what, I guess about 200 countries in the world with a national team.
A 48 team tournament is ridiculous. Just shows how much of a farce international football has become.

Champions League is going the same way.
Extra teams in and extra games from 2024 despite the fact the last 8 has 3 PL teams and 3 Spanish teams plus BM yet again.

Soon it will be easier to qualify than to not. Mind you Scotland will still fuck it up.

Don't worry, the Irish and the Romanians will somehow find a way to miss this.

Well I don't know about that. But out of curiosity I had a look, 211 teams in FIFAs rankings list, probably 150 of them are totally useless at football. So with 48 teams you would have to wonder why there is a qualification process at all.

Looking at today's rankings, a 48-team World Cup would look like this:

UEFA (16 places): Belgium, France, England, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Wales, Sweden, Serbia, Poland, Ukraine
AFC (8 places): Iran, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Iraq
CONCACAF (6 places): Mexico*, USA*, Canada*, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica
CONMEBOL (6 places): Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Chile
CAF (9 places): Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Cameroon, Algeria, Mali, Ivory Coast
OFC (1 place): New Zealand
Play-offs: 2 from Solomon Islands, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Burkina Faso, Oman

Might look like that but North Macedonia aren't in it and they've just knocked out Italy.

Yeah, that's going directly on the rankings. There's no big 'shocks' there except in the Asia berths, to be honest. I think all of the rest (excluding those in the playoffs) have been in at least one World Cup since 2002, except Mali and potentially Wales. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if qualifying is restructured to wheedle out any major shocks.

How tacky can this get? Idris Elbow fluffs Germ Genius onto the stage via Diddy Deschamps and now a succession of unknowns take possession of the pots.... we're into Arabic now being translated by Porky Pierce - unforgettable

England play their first game eight days after the last PL game. Pretty ridiculous. If all goes to form England v France in the Quarters.

England in yet another joke group - every - single - tournament .

As soon as we play Spain or similar we are out as no way will we win anything with that woke cunt in charge .

You two are daft buggers . Assuming we are going to win a game and get out of the group stage.

I'm the last 16 we play runner up of group A and also we avoid Brazil, Argentina and Spain until semis from what I gather.

The Italians aren't even at the party and the crowts are shit currently.

That leaves the frogs as a potential party pooper before semis.

What's not to like?
