Missed the game, just done catch-up and Phil was a game changer who lit up the game.

Just the thought of him playing brought me to the game, his performance really did get me off my seat.

Southgate’s still a cunt though, he still had to make changes that didn’t play to our strengths.

It was only Wales....the worst team ever to have participated in a WC tourney...absolute dog shit they were.

I did not watch the match but saw the highlights......by all accounts Foden was frustrated as no one passed the ball to him in the first half when they should have done - probably due to that spasticated manager of ours tactics.

Foden only played due to the whole world ( minus Southgate ) wanting him playing

Marcus Rashford's World Cup 2022 display against Wales a poignant moment for a true talent

I thought England were OK. Reminded me of a City game (layered defence), but England not quite so good as us!

Foden played well, Walker played well, Stones played well (apart from hitting over from 2 yards). Phillips and Grealish also.

Rashford was absolute dogshite first half, unable to control a ball or anything. Came through second half, but lucky he was still on there.

Good job done all in all.

Surely Qatar is the worst team ever - well, for a long time

Thought Foden played very well 2nd half especially when he'd moved to the left. Walker was great- especially since it was his 1st game in nearly 2 months.
We've really missed him the last 6 weeks at City, hopefully he stays fit. He never had an injury until that one back end of last season which cost us the CL Semi in my opinion.

I agree. Having Walker injured and Pep trying to get Fern to play there against a rapid winger was ridiculous. He was skinned by that Vinicius character. If Walker was there it would have been a different story.

My take as well. Several times saw Foden move early for a pass which never came because the likes of Henderson can not play that type of game.

Rashford is being over hyped because he plays for MU. Foden earned the free kick. Rashford hit the free well but Ward was badly positioned. For the second Ward at fault again and Rashford should have passed early to Wilson or Foden for a better opening. But of course you won't see that in the media coverage.

Henderson a player with small talent has a big big mouth. He never shut up. He deserved to have been told to fcuk off several times by the other players.

Kane's assist for Foden's goal was pure quality.

Southgate's next team selection will be interesting. Foden and Rashford deserve a start ahead of Sterling and Mount. Can't see him dropping Sterling and not playing Rashford. So Foden and Mount on the bench?

Does not matter either way. Southgate is not good enough tactically to get the best out of the squad. England going home at the QF stage I think. With the forward players England have they should be in the mix to win but because of Southgate they won't be.

Yep and even 2nd leg they never looked like scoring when Walker was on- he went off injured the last 10 whatever it was and it all went wrong.

Needed that. Started by a tricky flick from Foden. Nice passes and good finish.

The two most odious players on the pitch with the goals. Just need TAA to come on and score a free kick to make it a hatrick.
