I'm hoping for a not guilty verdict. Although he's obviously a bit of a party boy and a top shagger, i'd like to think of him as a naive guy who was taken advantage of rather than a rapist, for his sake and that of the club. Obviously if found guilty he deserves to be punished, if innocent he should be entitle to continue his career if he can but i doubt it will be with us . Too much time has passed for him to get back his performance levels prior to all this never mind exceed them - which is what most supporters would deem necessary.
If found innocent, what an indictment of our crown prosecution service

If Mendy is found not guilty the people who brought the false accusations against him should face serious charges.
They have caused a huge amount of damage to him, at many different levels.

being found not guilty doesn't always mean the accusations were false.

Mendy could say, being found guilty doesn’t mean the accusations were true.

That is the problem. It is to easy to falsely accuse people. There is no deterrent, only upside.
An accusation sticks to the accused like glue, usually forever.
In the case of Mendy, if found guilty he does time, if found not guilty he walks but he has paid (and will continue paying) a heavy price for being accused.
IMO a trial like that should have consequences for both sides.
If accused is found guilty then they are punished but if found not guilty the accusers are punished.

That would put a stop a lot of the BS accusations that are happening at the moment.

Agreed. The women that have accused him should be put on trial and then they can go through the process of being found guilty or not guilty of lying.

To be honest, Notts, watching Porridge continuously for a year could be a worse punishment

BBC led with the prosecutions closing argument in their headline yesterday. Pretty disgusting

That headline is probably actionable - there is supposed to be balanced reporting in these sitiations.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-m ... r-63666378

And there it is, how do you ever recover your reputation from headlines like that even if found not guilty?
If found not guilty, it means the accusers could not prove their accusations, yet they walkaway unscathed. Ridiculous.

That’s the one. Not sure how they get away with these things, but it’s a corporation that hid a paedo for years so I’m not surprised.

I've made a formal complaint, it's completely unacceptable when both closing statements were available to headline with a standalone quote from one side.

Disgraceful, surely could be seen as trying to influence a jury.

Why have they stated - “young women”?!

Makes him sound like a nonce! They’ve chosen to be escorts at their “young” age.

Two or three days init?
Each charge and evidence will have to be assessed and a unanimous verdict (unless directed otherwise) reached.
Also there are two defendants so I anticipate they could be out a whole lot longer unless they it's evidently clear one or both are guilty/not guilty.
