If it had just been Villa fans we’d have understood but why fans of every other PL club?

Not too bothered about Rice, most certainly not worth 105m.

I would rather we looked for a winger and kept bernie.

Grealish is worth £100m because of his market value. I’ve had rags ringing me up since the final saying “he’s class Grealish isn’t he”. You’ve got kids growing their hair out and wearing Alice bands to be like him. It’s not just about the football pitch with him.

Rice isn’t marketable. No kid wants to look like this -

Spot on. He was the most likeable english player in the world at the time(still is) and was great for pr plus obvs a very talented footballer. My sister in law who hates football and knows nothing all of a sudden knew who man city was and was interested and you can bet there were millions like that too.

We didnt need him for homegrown rules, we are fairly ok in that department.

He is worth over 100m now.
Buy was he when we bought him?
I don't think he was but I suppose its debatable.

Mmh, not sure about closing the thread CTID - H . Have we exhausted all the possible Rice recipes ? could be a useful way of passing the time between games. Especially since we wont be talking about his football.

If we did bid for him the other day, i think it's great that the Arse have to cough up more money for him. I wonder what Ian Wright thinks of this deal ?

I'd have taken rice for around 50-60m but this is madness money. Also just seen somebody on twitter refer to him as the new Eddie mcgoldrick and now I can't stop thinking about it.
