God's own vs gooners pre-match thread

Postby CTID Hants » Mon Mar 25, 2024 8:16 pm

I am sure i speak for all of us when I say Sunday cannot come quick enough.......

They've been on free scoring run for a bit now, so here's hoping the break has killed their momentum!

We lost at their's BUT only just, to a late a freak deflection, we were also without Rodri or KDB.

I didn't watch England the other day so don't know how bad Kyle's injury is, what I've read indicates it is not as bad as first thought. I saw a comment from Vinicius Jr saying he hopes Walker will be fit to play against him, saying he's the hardest oponent he's come up against!

We need everyone else to come back unscathed.

Score wise, I've no idea how to call this one, I really don't.

Good news about Walker. We’ll need a defender with pace to deal with their wingers.

Akanji sent home early by Switzerland. If neither Walker nor Akanji is fit for Sunday Pep will have a problem.

Pep did warn the players before they went.

Time to get this right back off loan at Girona to replace Walker in the summer.

IF there are doubts over Walker snd Akanji Pep should be on the phone telling Southgate that Stones and Lewis are not to be risked. Sick of this nonsense. I get the playing for your country but a friendly is a different matter

Gvardiol at left back will get destroyed against Arsenal IMO.

Im sure Stones has only played 50% of games for the last 8 years ( And if that is inaccurate then he has certainly missed some season defining games due to his fragile structure )....fucking TiT needs to be sold in the summer.

Edited.

You sound confident in our ability to replace him with someone who will play a lot more and at the same time be as good as he is when he does play.

It’s not up to Carl to find that player though to be fair. We have scouts and a manager for that.

It’s more the big chunk of wages that would save and go towards another player - whether that’s in his position or not.

Neither Walker nor Stones took part in training today according to the Express. I’ll be very surprised if Stones plays on Sunday. Apparently Akanji is ok though as are Kevin and Jack. No word on big Ed but Ortega can fill in ok.

I didn’t mention Nunes was also likely to be fit for fear of raising your blood pressure. Obviously he won’t start anyway. Ederson/Ortega Akanji Dias Ake Gvardiol Rodri Kovacic Kevin Foden Grealish Haaland nailed on as starters I would say.

I can see Nunes starting and getting the winner
