So many examples of playing someone we paid big money for over someone already here who would be miles better.

What would happen if haaland or kev were benched for two games in a row?

We’d have marginally better possession and this board would go into meltdown because we are trying to walk it in and just need someone to have a shot.

Can’t win sometimes. He’s on track for 90 fucking goals in two seasons.
Tracking back is overrated.

I think the way he hit that penalty last night was a reflection on how he has seen his season. We need more of that controlled anger and passion and strength. Defenders seem very capable of rattling him and putting him off his game. We need to find him better and vice versa. The quick and long ball distribution from Ortega was a big plus

And yet he plays 15ml Akanji and not 47ml Stones. Definitely not 100%.
If Haaland and Kev would have been benched last night we probably wouldn't be top going into Sunday.

People may have missed the excellent flick on to Foden in the run up to the penalty. League Division Two class at least. Huge pressure on the penalty too, 10 minutes still to go and he took it in his stride.

Almost the equivalent of saying the goalie made three great saves, but wasn’t in the game other than that.

Yes of course football is and always has been a team game with 11 men on the pitch working for each other. But let’s not forget the other players in the squad who play their part as well. Both on match day as subs and in training pushing each other and of course in rotation in playing other games.

But there is one single thing that every single player who has ever played the game says is the hardest thing to do week in week out. And that is to score goals. And Haaland does it better than anyone else in the PL and arguably throughout Europe. So if there’s a guy you can afford giving a bit of slack to, it’s that forward who consistently scores.

Of course Haaland’s game can be improved. He isn’t perfect. No one is. But he is young. He is hungry. He loves it here. I get the impression he wants to learn and give his game more skillsets. And already he is an absolute fucking machine. When Pep came we wondered whether Aguero would be able to play in a Pep system with the changes that brings. And of course he did. No reason to assume Haaland won’t improve at all.

Premier League:

Games 66
Goals 63
Assists 13

66 games, 76 direct goal contributions.

Man, when this lad finally gets his finger out he might just make it in the big time

I think he’s often asked to occupy defenders for the other forwards to get space. Those games where he barely gets a touch. He may get the odd shot & goal in those games but I’m certain if told, he’d drop off and contribute.

The boy remains a fucking menace. 30 in 32 for Norway - fair play to him. Bobb was subbed on 62 played on the right wing. Hope to see much more of him preseason and next
