I think the last month of KdB's Contract is the least of City's worries. Jack , for example is already on holiday and being paid a fortune , even though he has done sod all for the last two seasons.

FIFA brought in special legislation for players who's contracts end this year. Their contracts would end before the tournament and a special window is opened to allow players to sign a one month extension if they wanted to play.

They also changed the rules to allow out of contract players to move to clubs in the tournament purely on a one month contract (they were hoping for Ronaldo with that rule) but not sure many would want to risk injury and losing out on proper deals afterwards so can understand why players wouldn't want to stay on and play.

Also, even though he scored the winner tonight KDB was awful, no loss to us him not playing the CWC. Doku was brilliant though, Belgium's best player by far
