The club have their first true global superstar, and have committed for 9 years to that.
But there's no hiding from the fact that this is a 50 goal a season player in the right team, and in the modern era only Messi and Ronaldo have been in that league. If he's bagging 30, we need to be careful not to look at that as 'good'.....yes its good in the context of normal strikers, but it is utlimately far below what he's capable of.
There can be no question that Guardiola is struggling to fit him into his rigid style of playing, and for Haaland to have bagged the goals he has is a sign of what a true force of nature he is. But he is also missing a lot as someone else pointed out, and that for me tends to suggest he's cold in games because of the extent to which he's not involved, he isn't being found with through balls regularly so isn't staying sharp through the game.
Haaland is clearly the long-term future of this club, Pep isn't......I feel a bit sick saying that as I would never typically support a player over a manager, especially not one like Pep, but the reality is there for all to see. We won't get the best from Haaland until he gets a manager who knows what to do with a striker.
