Wild, Senegal leave the pitch after a late penalty was awarded, later returned to the pitch, penalty saved, Senegal won in extra time.

Nope, CaF have their say.

Dodgy decisions and behaviour throughout that game. A joke of a final. African countries manage to corrupt most things. The world cup and euros will go the same way as more of the third world countries are brought in. Football as a game is being ruined
The only decent team in Africa are the Sprinkboks and they push the rules to the limit

Senegal were stupid to leave the field like they did but this is a joke of a decision, especially 60 days later and that the penalty was taken and they went on to play extra time to complete the game.

This is almost as dumb as FIFA refusing to move Iran's games to Canada or Mexico

From what I've seen of the ruling, the rules seem to be explicitly clear that if the team leaves the field of play, the forfeit clause comes into play.

While it's a shame it's all gone down this way, Morocco were in the right to be awarded the game - but it flags that the gap in the rules should be that the captain of the team who stays on field should be entitled to determine whether they enforce the forfeit or restart the game at that time - they shouldn't be allowed to invoke the clause weeks later and allow a shitshow like this to develop.

Hopefully the rules will close out this scenario from happening again
