SCR spending rules

The latest nonsense from the Premier League is explained here by SKY. I'm sure they'll find a way to disadvantage us, but at least we beat the drawbridge. As the penalty is imposed THE SAME SEASON, can't help but see lots of trouble ahead

Does this mean we'll now be accused of money-laundering?

Let's hope they can add up better than the BBC who managed to post we were spending 500m this summer
They actually said anderson 120m enzo 130m and 100m for the Moroccan lad which according to them that amounts to 500m.
I kid you not, they reposted that on twitter.
Very sad how many believe it.

Bit like Monty Python tackling that killer bunny with the Holy Hand Grenade.

The Premier League explicitly says that 15 percentage points difference from the UEFA cap, are there to provide non-European clubs with headroom to compete against European incumbents.

That's utter bollocks

Aston Villa vs Brentford is the cleanest comparison. They are the lowest-revenue English club I would reasonably describe as now being in consistent European competition. Brentford officially reported £173.1m turnover for 2024/25. Villa reported £378.1m revenue.

Brentford: 85% × £173.1m = £147.1m
Villa: 70% × £378.1m = £264.7m

So even though Villa are subject to the supposedly more restrictive 70% rule, they can theoretically sustain approximately £117.5m MORE annual squad cost than Brentford.

Even though SCR allows Brentford to have an extra 15% to bridge the disparity, this 15% only represents 25 million allowance towards a 117m revenue deficit.

The rich can only get richer, and the disparity can only grow
