I was a bit sceptical when he got the gig, as I'm not a huge fan of continuity candidates. I thought the smart choice would've been Emery. However, I'm so impressed already that I think he could even have taken the reins in summer 2024 without much damage done. The squad is great now, and it's so fucking YOUNG!

Khaldoon doesn't pipe up that often, but when he does his promises do tend to play out. He was mega excited about Maresca. It was palpable. We should've known.

This team has some problems and they need to be resolved.

As mentioned by many Dias is an issue, and I dont think Gvardiol at left back is ideal.
Rather see Gvardiol at CB and O Reilly at left back. O Reilly was fantastic there last season. But he seems to love dias.
Then the playing two 10s leads to defensive problems and a huge over reliance on Anderson, who at this rate will be knackered by Christmas.

All good so far, but plenty of work to be done.

Bang on the money. Even though I wouldn't call the solving of such problems "plenty of work to be done"
Just drop Diaz, give Haaland the armband and start the back 4 as you mentioned (maybe with Khus involved in CB rotation).
Enforce midfield starting regularly Bouaddi/Anderson/Enzo and City become an irresistible force, and a joy to watch.
He's a smart manager, the real deal, and that's not rocket science.
