Torres - does his injury record present too big a gamble?

We may have a lot of strikers on the books but quality is the key and IMO we need at least one more top striker to go along with Tevez and Adebayor.

Torres is a top quality striker, proven at Premier League and international level.

32 games this season, 22 goals. Should his injury record this season make us look elsewhere for another top striker?

If you'd buy him how much would you pay?

If you prefer someone else who would it be?

It's not just this season though, he's been injury prone since he got here. I would look elsewhere, it's pointless having the best striker in the world if he's working with the physio more per season than with his team mates.

In the premiership I'm generally a neutral so I try to follow the league as a whole without having a bias or anti-bias towards any team. Though I'm Irish so whatever teams have more Irish players I tend to have a closer interest in, like Man City.

I'm not for or against Man City but with a bit of realism, if you were one of the greatest players on the planet and could go to any team in the world, would you really go to Man City, really? Some players are selfish like Robinho and Tevez who both have a history of jumping ship the second big bucks are waved. Torres and most world class players aren't bought that easily, I know he showed a good deal of loyalty during tough times at Atletico for a few seasons while the big clubs were knocking. I'd expect he'll do the same at Liverpool and if he was to move on it'd be for footballing and not financial reasons. I'd imagine a return to Madrid would be his first priority.

And players have been moving for financial reasons for quite some time now, its just that no club has EVER had the money that Man City have. The possibilites at this club are endless. We will be one of the biggest clubs in the world, so MAYBE having to wait a season for champions league football and being on top wages whilst challenging fot he best title in world football is as bad as it gets for any footballer moving here this summer.

I don't think its going to be that hard to get whoever we want.
