Ouchhhhhh. We threw it away this season with all those late goals. Full credit to Spurs--they got the job done.

I'm gutted too, but we have to face the fact that Spurs won because they were the more composed team.
If you look at the game in terms of offense, we were as good as Spurs and probably had more chances to score which we did not take or Gomes saved brilliantly. Defensively we were quite good as well, but could not match Spurs constant blocking of our shots and tight pressing of our team. They totally isolated Adebayor, who was limited to runs which were likely as not to be offside.
In terms of our passing, we went from sublime multi-passing moves to a total inability to find anyone with a cross or do anything with a corner. Spurs were not spectacular, but they were composed the whole match through and did not attempt better than they knew that they could do.
Wish we had won, but I can't hold anything against Tottenham. Hope they do something in the Champions League to make the pain worthwhile at some level.

The game seemed to change when Barry went off injured. Listening to Radio Manc now and I feel suicidal!

theyve beaten us, chelsea and arsenal, who'd have thought that. they deserve it. What WE dont deserve is the now brazen cheerleader style commentating and, need I say downright malicious media reporting. Thats what ticks me off more. shouldnt do but it does. ALL FUCKING SEASON. now this. They played better tonight. last few minutes we were shot, like a boxer way behind on points going for the haymaker but with no idea how to land it. We will come again. Thats a no-brainer. We'll try and spend big again, but the sniping will increase and its really getting under my skin. I'd cancel sky RIGHT NOW if the wife didn't watch half a dozen crap tv progs on it. I'd then have to sit and talk to her, and at the moment, that doesnt bear thinking about.

i just want to cry at the moment, i told everybody that would listen today that we would be in chumps league next season, i never for a single moment considered losing tonight,...even a draw seemed impossible.....i have mixed feelings now, i feel certain that no big names will be joining spuds and they will be fighting for europa next season, and that rags will collapse,....i just know it!......but it's about the same certainty that i had about us killing off the cunts tonight....i just want to cry

I remain broadly optimistic.

Vieira's legs weren't up for it: you could see the way he could hardly trot, as he came on

I had felt, about a month or two back that Spuds would get it: whatever you say about Bent 'Arry, he had transformed a ragbag of individuals into a decent, consistent team.
But then they shot themselves in both feet and gave us the opportunity.
But I think Mancini's innate conservatism against Man U and The Goners ultimately proved our undoing.

Inate conservatism is all the rage at the moment! but yeh it was on then off then off then off then off then..but all throughout there was a continuous line of media drivel spoiling a thoroughly absorbing sporting contest. I'm 38 and looked 25 before this season. I now look near 30 and I blame that bunch of cunts

As Mancini obviously believes that as he brough RSC on, is this your first Manchin out post?

It was a close game decided by a very lucky goal, bringing off Johson was one of the more baffling decisions for me.

fuck off. What a time to go on a wind up. Bet you've been dying to say that since your favourite rag left? Congratulations.

I've not read the thread yet but am watching the replay now (Sky+) and the scumbags on Sky have just said you can hear a pin drop from the City fans. Was I at the wrong game, the crowd were excellent again tonight!

Is that how it came across on TV/Net?

No mate it was a load of tosh from Sky. Crouch scored and the fans belted out Bluemoon to rally the team and they said "Since the Crouch goal you can't hear a pin drop from the City supporters!!!"

It's just a load of bollocks.

Well I'm in the 25th minute and that was 5 minutes ago! Seems they really do have an agenda.

There's another one limping on a fucking wind up. You, Bluez, Kladze, AntLondon, Guv113322 and certain other feller are exactly the same in your efforts. Snidy with your opinions and constantly trying to get your point through by not-football related bullshit. I've come to conclusion none of you have anything to add about footballing matters so you just concentrate on what you know best. Wind up and bullshit.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Right back home after a six hour drive.

FACT

Spurs where the bettter side

FACT

City supporters, (apart from the guy behind me in aisle 122 row F seat 19 who burst both my ear drums) were shite. What wasthe fucking point of singing NESSUN DORMA before the match!?!?!?

What a dirge. Everyone wanted something upbeat... and while I'm on the subject.... why do CITY not have a decent song to sing. Blue moon does not lend itself to mass singing. We need a Eurovision umpah umpah kind of song that will get everyone going.
The atmosphere IMHO at COMS this year has not been as good as everyone seems to make out? Is the acoustics wrong. Are the fans distributed in a way that makes it impossible to get everyone singing together.

From the opening match against Wolves to last night's the thin away strip of supporters are much better situated to performing mass singing.

It needs sorting.
