A big fat no.
We have to start winning the big games to sit at the top table. Thought we played well last night, but Spurs were better. Crouch ran the show for them. We need to show the same desire to win.

you told me he was going to play a very important part in our run in after he scored at fulham. i thought it hilarious at the time. what do you think now?

I don't think he got to play much of a part at all chief.

You also said I was a fucking idiot for betting that we'd win the premier league before Liverpool. And that it would could take ten years before we'd go for the league.

Lets shake on it ...

I think you are seriously jumping the gun mate. Don't get me wrong I hope you're scouse loving mate is 1000 euros lighter some time in the next (24 years was it I said??) but I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see Liverpool get serious investment in the next year or two. I don't think we are anywhere near challenging for the title and even that bag of shite Liverpool side challenged for it last season. And as I rightly pointed out to you a few short months ago, Santa Cruz is shite which is the reason he has not been deemed capable in playing an important part of our run in.

I think by the time Liverpool get this injection of cash we will already have secured top top players and will be too far ahead of them, but time will tell.

As for Santa Cruz - he's not good enough for the top table, but tell me a striker that is willing to come to a club HOPING to get fourth and willing to sit on the bench for the majority of the time, then come off the bench and change a game with no creative midfielder and a load of knackered defensive minded players around him?

The best in the world MIGHT be able to do it, but the best in the world don't sit on benches.

Yeah fair point. But for 18m and 100k a week I expect a hell of a lot more than a crock with no pace and very little natural ability.

The goal this season for me was to regain European football, our success in the league gave us a shot at the top four we failed this time round, but we still have Europa League football next season=Mission Accomplished.

1) We spent the same or less money than others such as spuds, Villa or red scousers in the last four or five seasons to become a Top Four club. Could anybody here forget how many financial problems our board had just 20 months ago?

2) Hughes made some tragic mistakes on the market and on the pitch that Mancini couldn't cancel in so few months. He spent too much money for Tourè, Ade, Santa Cruz and Lescott. All excellent players but, don't forget this, no one of them is a n° 1 absolutely!

What have we to do now? No other mercenaries at Eastlands but only young players hungry to become champions and to love our glorious shirt.
This or next manager must build two squads for next season. One for the Premier League and another for Europa League.
Proud the same of our 5th place, think positive and support our beloved squad forever! CTWD
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

Why are people pleased about being in the europey league? It's a pointless competition that no outside the teams involved is interested in. Are the people who are pleased the same ones who said it was good we didn't make it for this season, as it would mean less games and we could therefore concentrate on 4th?

The majority of the players are overpaid prima donnas who aren't fit to wear the shirt and hughes takes the blame for that. The inability to score in games at home and negative tactics are mancini's fault. I hope they both feel as misearable as we do, but i doubt it.

I'm convinced we'll never win anything whilst i've got a hole in my arse, there's justsomething wrong with the club. Skint or insanely rich, we're still the theatre of base comedy and i'm sick of it

Hold on, you just suggested we'd appoint Hodgson manager whose only merit is doing well in Europa League, yet you claim that no outsider follow it???!??

I follow it by the way. And so do many other proper football people.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

There's no denying that the top clubs think of Europa as a mickey mouse competition, but we're not a top club.

Also, I fucking enjoyed our last run - I loved the mid week matches, cheap and cheerful tickets, hotels and flights!
The Hamburg game cost me and Aine 105 euro each - that was ticket, flight and accomodation - for the best live game I've ever been at?!

Hoo fucking rah!

To be fair, I don't care what some fair weather Barcelona fan from Tenerife thinks of Europa. I appreciate it, most of the people whose opinion about football I care for appreciate it, that's enough for me.

Besides, like I've said before, I consider European tours to be present for supporters. Something nice extra. League and domestic cups is where it's at for me. Games in Europe are top leisure time.
