Hope the operation on his leg works. Be a real shame if he has to lose it.

Good luck Neil.

Sad news, hope he makes a full recovery without the nedd for amputation.

One of my favourite players, got a photo signed by him the shop opposite the corner of Main Stand and Scoreboard end ( North Stand). Anyone else remember it? Players used to go in before the game top sign autographs. It was called ( I think) the Players Pitch?

Neil - hoping and praying like all other Blues that the latest surgery is successful and that no more action will be needed.

A true gentleman and a genuine City legend.

My boyhood idol.

Things went bad for Neil Young after he left City, a mixture of bad luck and some bad decisions on his part. Heard different versions over the years of why didn't get a testimonial. He should never have had to worry about money the way he did, even working as milkman for a while, but even though that's done with and he's more settled now it's time the club sorted him out handsomely. Make the pre-season opener at the stadium, whoever it's against, the NEIL YOUNG TESTIMONIAL MATCH.

Heard great things about his left foot, and seen some footage (pun not intended). Hope the vein transplant is a success, and he makes a full recovery.

before my time following city but my mum who was city mad said he was a legend and played derbies like they meant something! earlier poster correct lets make the stadium opener the Neil Young Testimonial and acknowledge a past great/whilst giving him some financial support-i could see this encouraging a possible sell out /near full house aswell

Nelly was stuffed by City good and proper.....He was sold to Preston, didn't want to go, agreed to the move on the grounds he would be given a City testimonial. When push came to shove, the testimonial was never granted and Nelly was hung out to dry. He never forgave the club for that and stayed away for many years. A very sad story for Nelly who was a solid and very classy City servant for many years.
The guy needs some good fortune. I hope all goes well.
