With our WAFFA league and TV stuff I wonder if we'll ever have a Saturday game this season?

EDIT - cancel that I've just looked at the KO time!

Week after seems to be on telly too, against the Dippers. Maybe we've pinched SCUM's SKY spot?

You mean apart from this game? ie. 12.45pm Saturday

Looks like we have a few each month too...

Liverpool home game has moved to Monday 23rd as well, was hoping it would be moved as I'm away on the Saturday :-)

Be a very good test followed by Liverpool. Two wins would be fantastic and show immediate progress.

I agree. Spuds will go hell for leather to get our scalp. There will be no better chance for them than at home on the first day of the season. I hope we stuff them comprehensively.

On the other hand the Dippers will be trying not to lose what I assume is their first away game. We can take advantage and shouldn't have any problems.

Come on City

this is one hell of an opening fixture given what happened last season. I am kind of half expecting a right set to.. again because of last season and the fact that it is going to be what all the players are going to be focusing on during the pre-season. Spuds have an advantage in that i think most of their team will be pretty much the same players, and they are at home, whereas may have 2 or 3 or even 4 new faces that might start, but that is both a disadvantage and advantage, as our new lads are something of an unknown for Spurs. I think that both sets of players are gonna be well wound up for the game though, just hope we catch Spurs unawares.. due to a change in tactics or formation or one of the new lads.
First game of the new season as well.. cant wait.. it is going to be a humdinger.

We need payback on those cunts, the memories are still fresh from the end of last season and a good result against the Spuds will put those demons to rest!

The 'Unknown' worked well for us with Sven so we could do well here - need to shut them up early doors though and give them a leathering - 0-4 in the first half would be good ;-)

i had a brushing them aside like chaff sort of vision of what i would like, but it could be a tough game. I wouldn't be too surprised though if Bobby hasn't got sheet of paper strategically sellotaped on his bedrroom wall so it is the first thing he see on waking up, with the words;
Everton
Stoke
Spurs
Rags

scrawled on it.

City will be ready.. Spurs will be dreaming of CL glory.

I dunno.. it started pre-season last time but I don't think we have to "qualify" this time around as we did it via league position....

I guess the qualifying games have been announced but not sure??

Just had a quick look at the CL qualifying fixtures. Spurs join for the 3rd Qualifying round 3rd or 4th of August.
As i understand the format If they get through that they then go into the play off round and play the first leg 3 or 4 days after they meet us. City play Spurs Sat 14th. Spurs play 1st leg on Tues 17th or Wed 18th.

The play off round is where teams like Arsenal join in and it starts to get serious in terms of opposition, so Spurs will be looking at the first leg of one of the most important games in their history against very possibly decent opposition.
This bodes well for City as there is no way on planet earth that Spuds players are not going to have half an eye on that.

We will have the first match of the Europa on the Thurs 19th and while that is also something for us to be looking at there is a difference, we have been there before and as we are top of the pack of qualifiers unlike spurs we wont be drawn against the best teams ( not that im suggesting it will be easy though )

So the conclusion is that this is good time to be playing Spurs and hopefully that will count and we will wipe them off the face of the planet.

I hope spurs don't make it to Arsenals etc as it would just be comical..
