I need a bench to accommodate the likes of Sneijder, Mueller, Friedrich, Klose etc. Sneijder is my most obviously controversial exclusion from the eleven, but I thought he was crap the other night and one or two of his goals have been a bit slutchy.

I'd forgotten about Robben, I'd personally put him into NQDP's team with Maicon & dump Muller.

Great list. Can't argue with that much except in the case of maybe wanting a defensive midfielder -- De Jong despite the rhetoric about him was perhaps the best, Diego Perez from Uruguay was tasty as well i thought. I'd swap Muller out for one of them in a 4-4-2 simply to show how important that role is/was for their teams and their progression in the tourney.

I think Forlan and Villa had much better tournaments than Robben. If Robben had buried his chance Sunday he'd have to be on this list tho.

decent team would try get ozil in there as he was my fave player to watch,notsure about puyol got done a few times but cant think of any alternatives! Maybe the guy off uruguay?

Not crazy about van der Wiel myself. I thought he was the weakest link in the Dutch defence, and I actually felt more at ease when Boulahrouz playe right back in the semi final.

I agree, v/d Wiel looked pretty shit when put up against decent opposition. Better going forward than Boulahrouz but not very good defensively. A bit like Lahm then really.... ;-)

Sneijder led his team to WC Final. Was country's top scorer even tho he's a midfielder. I find it hard to see how Özil could be ahead of Sneijder in this tournament's star line-ups.
