Well with the amount of no-shows we've suffered, I imagine the ten pm ko is the killer one that sees most drop outs.

Just texted Bob, alright to get in with you Ric?

Yeah they will probs ring every 10pm team to just check!

Yeah sound mate, I am picking ashton up from chester road at the bus stop just after the church on the side of the road going into town. See you there at 9:30!

Ok no worries, see you there then. Dunno about powerleauge; I may take a powernap before tonight's game.

They have rang me about 10 times but I was in meetings all day hence you getting a call. They even emailed me. One voice mail said it was off but when I called back they said they got it wrong. I'm not there tonight so Bob can you collect the cash.

We were beaten by the better team tonight, but not better by much, and not beaten my much either. What was it in the end; 12-7 or 12-8? Let history, and the one eyed ref in the so'wester be the judge....

They were pretty slick to be fair and obviously have a lot of playing time together under their belts. For half of them, their first touch was a turn, and they were unleashing howitzers from pretty much anywhere on a very greasy pitch, so much so that Bob must have wished he had a tin hat on at times. Kudos once again for bags of quality saves.

Their 'keeper was big enough to have his own gravitational pull, and so it seemed, as shot after shot from us lot seemed to be strangely attracted to him. We played some great football at times, but found ourselves undone too often when we lost the ball. Still a case of learning where we all need to be when the oppo have the ball, which is hard when we're rotating positions with the rolling subs, but we're getting there.

All in all pretty encouraging, they do say you learn more from defeat than victory, and there's no shame in losing to an unbeaten team sitting top of the league on maximum points. This time next next season that could be us...or we might still sneak a promotion this time round.

The more I think about the game the more I get pissed off.
5 a side is all about pass an move, the odd goal from distance is fair enough but if that's all
you do, I think it's shit!

Yeah they had great shots an on a 11 aside I would bow down to them but that isn't what 5aside is about.

Ric,not sure I always forget to count, I know I defo got 2 though. Think roger got a few?!

We are improving and there was some good passing football. We still get a bit giddy sometimes trying stuff that shouldn't be tried with no cover behind. I include myself in that.
I did actually get three goals last night. I scored with my first touch and had two tap ins. So we scored at least eight. Why can't that ref count?
