On Bebes failure to make the reserve team...
RAG1: Reserve league is so inferior to Premiership football I think that the media are within their rights to wonder why, if he's so talented, he didn't get any kind of involvement in last nights game.
The tone of the article is level headed and asks the question without resorting to tabloidesque sensationalism.
The signing stank from the moment it was first announced in my opinion and in my 28 years of following united it ranks up there in the top 3 bizzare signings I've ever seen us make.
You only have to see his youtube reel of 'highlights' to feel like we've been massively had by someone.
RAG2: After watching the City v Liverpool game the other night and thinking what good a game Adam Johnson was having, it suddenly dawned on me that we have just paid more for Bebe than City did for Johnson.
I have watched a bit of Bebe on YouTube and to be fair, he looks quick and seems to have rough potential. But when looking at Johnson compared to Bebe, makes you realise what a punt Bebe is.
Lets just hope it pays off ....
RAG3: Maybe he's just too raw.
RAG4: Worst comes to worst we sell him on at either a small profit/loss. It would be a mimic of the Tosic situation one thinks if it did happen, with him not playing etc. We shall have to wait and see.
But there will always be a market for those players who aren't quite lucky enough to make it at our club.
RAG5: I said the transfer has disaster written all over it (a potential for disaster), not that it IS A disaster. Fergie should have never said he hadn't watched the kid play, or that it was an impulse buy. Now, everyone and their mothers know that this lad is here on a punt. That would have been fine if his transfer was 1-2 million, but 7 million is a huge transfer fee for someone who is relatively unknown even in his own homeland. I don't see why Fergie should expose the lad to that kind of pressure so early on. We should have got him here with the fee undisclosed, and just blended him into the team under the media and fan radar.
Now if he has a poor first few games the media and some fans will be screaming Ali Dia. United don't need that, and neither does Bebe.
And WTF are you talking about it not being my money...it's MY club. If you honestly believe that you need to have a personal financial stake to voice your opinion about football transfers then 99.99% football fans should just stop talking about players, transfers and tactics. Oh, and 7 million isn't a small amount to turn our nose up at...we're a club that's now focused on getting 'value' in the transfer market. Figure out what that means and you might understand why some people are concerned.
