I think that credit should go to Marwood / Cook for managing to get that much for him - we were not in a strong negotiating position - I would have expected quite a bit less than that tbh

4.5m to get that sort of profile is a fucking bargain IMHO. And let's not forget, we had 15 hours to get him in, and sold shirts too!!
Good luck Robby... You'll miss us more than we'll miss you

Let's not forget his Loyalty payments had we kept him and sold him prior to his contract finishing. So in reality, we've probably made a slight profit as well as all the publicity.

I hope neither of you two work for a Bank, or worse still an investment firm.

He he.

Tbf the little cunt will have been amer... ammo ... thingy... amortized down from £32M in the accounts so at least we've sold him at more or less the right price after 2 years of sponsored loafing, rather than giving him away.

Agreed. The inclusion of salaries unpaid, to reduce the deficit or worst still, come up with a profit (as SSN seem to want to do), is ludicrous! We paid 32.5m and sold him for whatever it is.. that's it!

It's like saying we've made a profit on Messi, by not paying him however many million we'd have paid, had he been our player.

By the same reckoning, had we agreed a 15 year contract: 32.5 + 12m = 44.5m, sold for 22 + 78 saved = 100m, so we've made a 55.5m profit!

Anyway, slightly sad to see him go.. was harbouring hopes he'd be the player we all know he can be, for us - but relieved the debacle is over.

Farewell and may the rest of your career be trophyless. Milan should have got him on a 3yr deal cos he won't want to play the 4th season in case he gets kicked and misses the World Cup.

I loved his form pre his
infamous night out in Leeds
...truly great stuff

I loved and still love the way he plays with a smile

Didn't like the rest from the end of that first season onwards

Annoyed that he didn't have the balls or the insight to see that he could now still do amazing things here.....

A real shame but a nice bit of business.....presume it was Mancini who sorted it, no way it was Marwood or Cook

Pretty much sums it up for me Anti.
I wonder how much that night in Leeds and the alleagations that followed and the feeling of insecurity that must have come with it,
affected Robbie's mentality and convinced him that he was in the wrong club/country ?

Ha ha ha, you're right mate, just spreading the positive-ness of it all ;-)

Let's look at it another way, we paid 6.5m per year which makes 13m. Take that off the 32.5m and he was worth 19.5m, so we made a 2.5m profit. See, there's always a positive light in everything!

I'm quite sad to see him go but with a little dose of relief chucked in. It seems his first season with us has been forgotten when in all honesty he was a success. Sixteen goals says so even if he did disappoint away from home a few times. On his day one of those players that is worth turning up just to watch them.
Mind you he did behave like a git towards us a little too often.

I am actually glad he left on these terms. We got something out of the deal and he goes to a competitive club that will
probably be easier for him to fit into. Whatever we want to say about Robinho, his transfer turned the page on our history and ushered in a new era. That being said, I won't miss his play and attitude!! Laters Robby....

Been dazed and confused for this transfer! Great attitude to create genial football but at the same time a lack of concentration during all his games with City. Good luck for Rob but life now must go on at Eastlands!

He was only a success until Christmas in that 1st season.

With hindsight, we should have dumped the little shit when he fucked off to Brazil because he barely turned in a decent performance again in a City shirt after that. We all made excuses for him & gave him the benefit of the doubt when reports came through of interviews he'd given to Brazillian reporters stating he wanted to go to Barca etc but they were right & we were wrong.

Imo he was planning his way out from then. Remember the top geezer at Santos saying all that time ago that he believed Robinho signing for them was a possibility after meeting him? We all laughed & took the piss because there was no chance, remember? Coincedence that Robinho rolls up there next season? My fucking arse. Lying, conniving little shithouse.

Gave us 5 months of decent sometimes wonderful football, then took the fucking piss out of us.

A star in his own mind. Remember that day back in September when one of the stars from Real waltz into our lives on the back of a billionaire take-over. It was just like a dream and the Chelsea game confirmed we had were going places; well, until we lost anyway. But even that didn't matter, the little maestro had shown us some of his stuff and every blue was talking about Robinho - a fresh start, a bright new future.

Things changed and he became somewhat of an hate figure because of his 'me' attitude and his lethargic games, but at the same time, he was the start of this new coming of Manchester City, and I for one will be ever grateful for those crazy months that started all this off.

Thanks Robbie, hopefully you'll enjoy AC, however, it does seem wierd that we are selling our cast-offs to the likes of AC Milan instead of Newcastle or Sheffield United.

It's been emotional!
