Aye, a very good player. According to the BBC he turned down Liverpool, Benfica and Tottenham to go to Birmingham. Fair play to the Brummies.

I wonder what they offered him wage wise?

And PS. Fuck off you horrible excuse for a professional footballer, hopefully you'll flop like a fat bloke on a diving board!

What I'd like to know is why do clubs always leave it until the last minute on deadline day?

I fucking hope not, although that piss-flap faced cunt is not new to dragging out the transfer window is he?

I'm hoping it's just a rumour.

Can we still loan players to the lower leagues in England/Scotland? If so, how long for? My question really relates to the likes of

Etuhu, Logan, Vidal, McDermott who have previously been on loan and not exactly set the world alight in the lower divisions so surely have no future whatsoever at City

Even the likes of Ben Mee, Scott Kay, James Poole....not had a sniff of really being involved in the first team set up and surely the clock is ticking (with what looks like more talented younger youngsters coming up behind them and likely to squeeze them out

The latter lads more a question for those who watch the EDS/training.....do they look capable of stepping up?

Mee,Kay and Poole haven't a chance of making it in the prem imo.

Not seen enough of Poole recently but was impressed with him on past sightings but I'd certainly say Kay has no chance & Ben Mee reminds me of a young Alan Kernaghan; painfully slow, useless in the air but good tackler & decent on the ball. Imo he's not good enough for reserve level.

I've often wondered about McDermott. He seems to have loads of ability & initially was starring at wherever it was we loaned him out to. Do we know whether he's back because nobody wants him or because we want to have a look at him?

My thoughts aren't because the guys are useless but simply whther i think they have what it takes to make it at prem level. I too have been impressed at times with Poole as he often makes things happen in reserve team games that I have seen but I just don't think he has enough. McDonutt ,as I have heard people refer to him is another who just hasnt got enough. I cannot believe we are seriously needing another close look to decide.

Perhaps McDermott lost form when on loan & no clubs are interested then. If there are players who we don't believe have a future, there's no way they should be anywhere near our 'elite development squad' imo. It makes a mockery of the whole thing. If we want to give them games to help get a move, we could start up a 2nd reserve team like we did a few seasons ago & play them + a selection of kids v the lower league reserves so people can scout them. We can afford it.

Mee looked solid in preseason for us, he had a really good game in fact (including some excellent headed clearances)

Thats an interesting point Douglas.

Looking at the squadlist this season we went up to squad number 62 with not many gaps. Players like the below:-

Kelvin ETUHU
Shaleum LOGAN
Scott KAY
Javan VIDAL
Ben MEE
David BALL
James POOLE
Ryan MCGIVERN
Donal MCDERMOTT

have been around for a fair few years and made no headway in terms of breaking into the team.

Surely these guys are blocking the route through for yonger players to play reserve team football and train with the first team?

Or are we simply holding onto them untill they can find a club to play for?
