I'd love to see another player lose it and smash his face through the back of his head.

To be fair to Pedersen, he was always going to go down like that in an attempt to get Barton sent off, I suspect if Barton did that on the street Pedersen might have had a different reaction!

????

Surely footballers are exactly the same in the eyes of the law as rest of us?!?!? Barton did time for his crimes, right???
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

You know what...this might sound twisted, but Pedersen's reaction makes the light little punch to the ribs OK for me. Totally ridiculous exchange from both of them. Obv. you shouldn't in theory condone Barton's action, but yknow what...it doens't really bother me like i thought it might. Plus, his "it was just a shove mate not a punch" hand gesture was really comical, so...

cheers

I seem to disagree here. Have any of you 2 took a dig to the ribs?

Joey give him a proper jab there and from experience of giving and taking that sort of punishment, I can tell you now that it'd floor someone, especially a footballer mid-game.

How surprising that he didnt try this sort of thing against De Jong, noticed him thinking about some kidn of retaliation after the leg breaking (fair challenge) episode - he quickly back down with his tail between his legs then ...

Bully - should be banned from football!

exactly. you wouldn't fall down like a small child throwing a tantrum. He doesn't really wind up that hard bro...it's a quick crack to the ribs. Let's not make it like Barton has some Bruce Lee moves in his arsenal.

Perosanlly i thinks its more to do with the competative nature of the game, in any sport you can strike another player and get a 3 match ban, where as if you hit a guy on the street youd get a prison sentance. unfortuantley sport has differnent rules and seems to bipass common law, you could watch a game of rugby or ice hockey and see a riot between the players but nowt would happen because its in a competative controlled enviroment.

three match ban imposed by the fa as the ref missed it.......how fucking ridiculous that a premeditated punch in the chest to an opponent gets the same punishment as Ballotellis mistimed lunge...

Whenever I've seen Pederson at COMS I always come away thinking he's a complete cunt. His off the ball antics wind me up and I'm sure he gets off on winding other players up. He's a slimey little twat. Joey on the other hand, he's just a mad bastard.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other IMO. Pederson will have been trying to provoke a reaction, probably on Fat Sams instructions and he got one.

I just wish he'd have hit him full on in the face. Though they would have probably blamed De Jong.

Well as City fans you should know this goes back a long way to when Petersen stamped on him at Blackburn about five seasons back. They dont like each other full stop. But its hardly a major assault, is it?Nice to see an honest punch instead of the leg breaking tackles and play acting many go in for.Still breathin isn't he?

yeah it looks shitty...but i still don't mind it. Am i the only asshole on here that feels that way? Pedersen used this bitch "look the other way and plow my opposite shoulder into you" move which was really bullshit tbh. I wouldn't be having that either if i was one Joey "The Moustache" Barton.
