The scum are 2 points ahead of us with 2 games in hand and unbeaten. They are going to win the leaue with probably the worst team in the top 5. Its been gifted to them by us & chelsea throwing away points against shit teams.

There's still more than half the season to play; they won't stay unbeaten and we will learn from games like this and Stoke. They will throw away points too, and we will be able to close the gap; if we will close it completely, i don't know, but we won't be far from the top at the end of the season, we will in the fight till the end; of that I'm certain.

Yeah they will lose points but at the same time we will lose points, We will be up there but we are fighting for 2nd which will be amazing anyway.

I know we had masses of the ball and could have had penalties etc etc but Everton's gameplan allowed for City to have a lot of the ball and they would sit in numbers ro stop us going through the middle.

6 games we have failed to score already and each time against a team which knows how to defend.

Unless we will sign a center forward actually able to challenge for the ball in the box, our only option is that deployed on yesterday second half: upgrade from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1 in the limited hope to stretch the game wider. Balo is a gifted baby, Ade and RSC are somehow useless and unreliable for different reason, so that to talk about a PLAN B, is somewhat "pretending" , specially when the speaker is a renowned football pundit like You are, DH Sir.

Very true....even when they were down to 10 men they looked like they had 2 or 3 extra men on the park every time we went at them

Agree entirely that we need to adapt to this kind of opposition. My main issues are us trying to walk the ball through them, a lack of a combative targetman in the box and the poor quality of ball we are flinging into the box (as well as some fairly poor use of corners and free kicks this season in general).

We only need to look at the case study marked Arsenal to see how tried and tested (as ineffective) some of the above "strategies" are.

I have faith however that we have the resources (playing and coaching and financial) to resolve this and finish this season much stronger than we have started it...and that can't be something to be too down in the mouth about

Yeah I agree with this. It's these type of games where Tevez can be a hindrance as well, the amount of times he basically ran into Yaya and Silva because he had dropped out of the box.

Based on what you saw last night???!

Any other time we'd have won by three goals and that's even allowing for our shite start with two conceded. Bad refereeing, not closing down in the first 20 mins bad luck and Howard meant we didn't win the game.

Rarely will you ever see us concede two so early and we will dominate most teams like we did last night. Only difference is, we'll make it count 99% of the time.

We will finish top four based on what I've seen this season so far.

Maybe not the title, but I wouldn't rule it out just yet.

I think we'll do the top 4, but can't bring myself to believe that we'll be champs.
Everytime we start moving forwards, we take a huge step back. Everyone starts thinking "the team are gelling", then they become massivley unstuck.
A little too early for me.

Talk of the title is plain daft, imo. I dared to believe before the game, but we showed a complete lack of champions mettle, absolutely no doubt. Title winners would have seent hat off 4 or 5 one. Alright the ref was crap, but Howard made zero saves first half. None.

We should get top 4. There are too many iffy players in that side. Some good uns, but some real iffy ones and title winners don't have them, at least not the quantity we have.

Still too soon to have a good guess. We are still finding our feet and so we still haven't seen what the team are capable of. That said last night was a disaster in terms of the performance, off the pace and getting pushed around we didnt turn up in terms of aggression and the dropped points just confirmed what we deserved.
That can happen though even to the best teams or title winners, if we are anything like challengers then there will be a response to this and it is in that response that we will see what we are made of. That loss has dropped us off the pace so the response has to be to ensure we dont lose again at all costs, If we lose again in the next 6 games without some strange excuse then i would say we dont have the right mentality to stay in with a chance. We have to go on an unbeaten run from here.

Not a chance this season, but we will definitely finish in the top 4

There's always a chance, but it depends more and more on others ballsing it up - which could happen. We've still not cracked the problems posed by the likes of Everton & Brum, and we still seem to have comical moments in defence. A bit of a three steps forward two steps back sort of season.

Still, if we are within six points of the leaders with eight games to go - well it has been known for a team to come through the pack and nick it.

Two extremes right there.

Based on what I've seen so far and the quality of the opposition, I don't believe there's no chance. We're currently 2 pts off the top so we're hardly out of the running. With January looming and the aquisition of one or two strikers, there's no reason at all why we can't make a challenge in the back half of the season.

Also, I wouldn't say we would definately finish in top 4 either. I think it's highly likely but during my lifetime City have never failed to dissapoint. I'll wait until it's mathematically impossible for us to fail before I say it's definate.
