You can bet that source is Joorabchian.

It's a weird one, I was expecting Carlos to go loco on Manini's arse. That's what everyone would expect, right?

He's the equivalent of Mini-Me, only manlier ;-)

We have more:

He told ESPNsoccernet: "Carlos Tevez has been portrayed as greedy, a common assumption with modern day footballers, but it simply isn't the case. He was offered a massive new contract and has turned it down.

"And he is unhappy at the club and so asked for a transfer. That is hardly out of the ordinary. Players do it all the time, mostly verbally, but Carlos is a strong character, as we all saw the way he came through the West Ham situation. But it really is not about the money. ''

I've know idea who this could be.

TEVEZ GIFT SNAPPED UP

Santa brought the Sunday papers an early Christmas present when Carlos Tevez handed in a transfer request - it meant they could go to town on a big story with not much else around to whet the appetite.
Thinking caps on all week then lads, and they haven't let us down. Every paper has a Tevez story of some description, including Paul Wilson's argument in the Observer that he is "not as good as everyone makes out."

Rob Draper in the Mail on Sunday goes with the theory that Carlos will be out of football for good by the time he's 30, which means just four more years and one World Cup for the little Argentina striker.

Tevez has often reinforced that fear, of course, with his plaintive interviews back home, and now that his daughters are domiciled in Buenos Aires, it will look like an even more attractive option to the player.

Draper also points out that Tevez was just 13 years of age "when clubs and agents first squabbled over who owned him and how much money each was due." He changed his name from Martinez to Tevez and joined Boca, adds Rob.

But he won't be leaving the club next month, declare both the Express's John Richardson and the Star's Steve Millar, old Manchester hands who reckon the parting of the ways will come in the summer.

Sunday Mirror man Simon Mullock, intrepid as they come, made the trip out to Turin in midweek to pin down Pablo Zabaleta, who is certain that his fellow Argentine will do the right thing by City and stay at the club.

The News of the World aren't as sure as they were either. While reporting that Chelsea are considering a move for Carlos, they reveal that the player is moving into a plush Cheshire "mansion" with a £5,000 a week rent.

Elsewhere, most papers think that Kolo Toure will return to being Captain Braveheart in preference to Carlos following the striker's confidential meeting with Roberto Mancini, details of which remain strictly personal.

From the OS-What the papers say.

Manchester City can confirm to its fans that “clear the air” talks have been held with Carlos Tevez.

During the meeting Carlos expressed his absolute commitment to the Club and formally withdrew his transfer request. Carlos’ contract remains unchanged and both Carlos and the Football Club are keen to focus on the opportunities that lie ahead.

Roberto Mancini commented “Carlos is a world class player whose contribution since he joined the Club has been invaluable.

I am pleased that we are now able to focus on pure football matters and to be able to look forward to Carlos continuing to play a significant role in the Club’s progress.”

Good PR stunt and professionalism from the club just before the fans go to the game tonight. Will keep club, fans and Carlos out of trouble for the near future at least. Summer 2011 is going to be very interesting.

Forgive and forget? I still expect him to be gone in the summer.
Whatever, get behind the team tonight and make it a very happy Blue Christmas, will be an amazing atmosphere i reckon.

And i really hope City and Tevez have put that Kia cnut firmly in his place,i will not be comfortable while he still has influence, the man is a cancer.

I don't care if he goes this summer, we will have time to replace him and gel the new striker into the system then. He knows the way we play and he's in great form, so it's great that he stays till then at least.

This said, even if went now, we could have replaced him and maybe we would have suffered from it a bit but not hugely.

Just been on the radio that he's changed his mind and is staying. Said he's had 'clear the air' talks and has officially withdrawn his transfer request.

Happy days.

I was the same when I found out on my hols. Was a nightmare as I couldn't get any further info than what I got via text. Pissed me off for days on end.

Anyway I'm back now and have heard that he has changed his mind but in my head I wont think of him in the same way. He has dragged our club through the media gutter and put City fans through further ridicule. Wanker. I am going to carrying on cathching up now and hope I can find some postive news on the blues!
