Sounds quite plausible to be honest. Wonder whether we would be interested this time round?

KAKA could be heading to Manchester United in a shock loan deal this month which could lead to a permanent £50million move.

The Brazilian superstar midfielder has been heavily linked to a move to Inter Milan – with Real Madrid wanting £50m. Chelsea, too, are seriously interested in grabbing the playmaker who has now fully recovered from an ankle injury after surgery.

The link has already been established with Kaka, 28, winning a Champions League trophy with Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti when they worked together at AC Milan.

But United, according to reports in Spain, have now emerged as clear favourites with Real boss Jose Mourinho happy to do business with his old sparring partner Sir Alex Ferguson. Mourinho would prefer sending Kaka to United rather than his previous club Inter.

Ferguson has insisted he will not be buying in the transfer window but a loan deal for Kaka would be the perfect solution. He is working tirelessly to find a loan club for striker Federico Macheda and Kaka would be a perfect foil to his strike force of Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov.

Mourinho has made it clear that he doesn’t find Kaka suitable to his style of play and is desperate to offload a superstar who was on Manchester City’s radar before he rejected them.

And Madrid general director Jorge Valdano has backed his manager’s decision by declaring that Kaka, who arrived in a massive £56m deal in June 2009, can leave the club. Valdano would love to bank the £50m Kaka fee but at the same time he has no problem in releasing the Brazil star until the end of the season.

Last season he had an equal goalscoring record, and a better assist record than he did at Milan, where he won world player of the year. Go figure.

To be fair, if the Glazers were to splash the cash once in order to temper any protests etc, then you would fancy it to be someone like Kaka who would be guaranteed to sell shirts to those tools who buy from their megastore wearing green and gold scarves and replica shirts.

Kaka would be eligible for the Europa and maybe Ade would be eligible for Champs League?
Both are currently unsettled and could benefit from this, and both clubs could afford their wages.

If it was a loan deal for the season, we would still be able to sell Ade in the summer. It would just mean an exchange of players for a short period. Seeing as we never even see Ade, then so long as we sign a striker, we can't lose with a swap for a short while really.

I think an Ade/Kaka swap loan deal would be good for us, we do lack a creative midfielder figure apart for Silva, and depending on the kind of injury he has sustained we might be without him for a while so we better get cover. At worse, we end with Kaka on the bench for six months.

Then again you go by the popular Spanish press theory that he 'flopped' last season. As for Real fans, the opening paragraph of this AS article today says:

"The return of Kaká, this very day, divides the Madrid fans into believers, agnostics and atheists.
