Liverpool make Emmanuel Adebayor inquiry but know chances are slim of securing a deal
Liverpool have made an inquiry for Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor but an immediate deal remains unlikely.
Real Madrid are also keen to take the striker on a short-term loan. However any club that are interested must wait until City have completed a deal for Edin Dzeko.
City remain confident of signing the 24-year-old Bosnia striker from German club Wolfsburg but have yet to finalise terms, and while that hangs in the balance Adebayor will remain at Eastlands.
Adebayor's position at City is almost untenable following a training ground spat with Kolo Toure on Tuesday.

I hope the only Honda Hodgson brings to Anfield is a Civic. (He looked rather useful in the World Cup)

Toure: With Adebayor it's not the first time & it won't be the last
Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has attempted to play down the training ground fracas involving himself and Emmanuel Adebayor, by suggesting they regularly came to blows during their mutual spells at Arsenal.
The aforementioned duo were yesterday pictured grappling with each other at Manchester City’s Carrington training complex before being separated by a number of their teammates, yet Toure claims the incident merely illustrates their desire to do well for the club as the Premier League title race enters a crucial stage.
Toure suggests he Adebayor know each other very well, “possibly too well” and intimates it will probably not be the last time he and his former Arsenal colleague have a “set-to”.
Toure is quoted by the Sun, saying: “It was a bust-up because of a hard tackle.
"We both lost it but it was quickly calmed down. Other players and the manager came to separate us.
"It's already forgotten. In any case, with Adebayor it's not the first time and it won't be the last.
"At Arsenal we often had a similar set-to. We know each other well, maybe too well.
"In any case that proves we have energy to burn. It's not that negative."

Italian press claim City striker swap deal
Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning that AC Milan are leading the chase for Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli and could use Chelsea target Pato as bait in an attempt to seal a deal.
Balotelli only recently moved to Eastlands in the summer from Internazionale but has cut a dysfunctional figure in Manchester despite the best attempts of manager Roberto Mancini to quell his fiery temper.
A childhood fan of AC Milan the 20-year-old has spoken in the past of his desire to return to the San Siro to play for the Rossoneri and could now get his wish should the City board deem his temperament to be an unrelenting hindrance. Although it is unlikely that Mancini will give up on his young charge so quickly, the club’s owners do have the capability to bench high-risk failures knowing they have the financial muscle to find replacements.
With Emmanuel Adebayor, Roque Santa Cruz, Craig Bellamy and Jo all still on the books, and with Edin Dzeko set to complete a £27 million move which would see him team up with Carlos Tevez, City are over stocked in the attacking department and looking to offload players in the coming months.
Brazilian international Pato has long been tipped to join former coach Carlo Ancelotti in London at Chelsea but could jump at the chance to make a lucrative move to England with big spending City. It remains to be seen whether the competition for places at Eastlands will put off the Milanese star although he would add a new level of guile and panache should he take the chance.

Moroccan title hopefuls show man city how to have a proper bust-up
Olympique Khouribga's Ismail Kouchame sent off for punching his own team-mate...

It's the kind of incident that makes Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure's 'fight' in training yesterday seem more like a meeting of old friends.
Ismail Kouchame was sent off at half-time for this amazing bust-up with his team-mate, Mohamed El-Askri.
