Does this mean that we have arrived at the top table now, appealing against a red card and winning the day.
Justice is done.

No mate, it just means there's a Blue in chage of the FA now.

Or it means that the appeal was well conducted and so obvious that they had no choice. There are limits on how far they can go.

In the case of Adebayor last year there was contact and they had to decide on intent. Here there was just Zabaleta trying to get out of the way of a headbutt.
I agree mate, I was just being flippant. There is no way the red should have been shown in the first place.

To be fair I would've only shown Sagna a yellow at most and Zab nothing. That cunt of a ref ran across with his hand in his back pocket and only consulted his linesman as a token gesture. He was desperate to send the pair of them off live on Sky Sports. A decent referee with a bit more integrity would've just told them both to calm down and got on with the game, but not this limelight-grabbing wanker. Proper pissed me off.

The paranoia on this site does make me chuckle. I was never in doubt that it would be upheld becuase he did nothing. They are not out to get us, we get the same treatment as everyone, just need to take your blue tinted glasses off to see this.

If that was the case, we wouldn't have to appeal the decision, surely? If the ref's match report stated that he got it wrong, the FA would automatically have to rescind the card wouldn't they?

Really?? So in the same match RVP elbows people twice yet nothing happens. Mad Zab takes three headbutts like a man and gets sent off? Doesn't sound like the same treatment as everyone else.
It's fair to say since the de Jong tackle we've had our players booked for making their first foul. Barry went mental the other night trying to point that out.

Correct decision but I am surprised.I am sure it will have been helped that every pundit I have seen since the game did say that Zaba did not deserve to be sent off.

You know why that is don't you? De Jong is just that good at tackling that there are so few opportunities to book/send him off that the officials have to pick on someone else in Blue!

And let's get back to the point that if Zab hadn't been sent off, we would have been a man up and may have actually got a shot on goal. That is what the ref prevented; cheating twat!

Maybe. Or maybe Yaya would have fallen over half way towards the Arsenal goal because he couldn't breathe.

Or one of our strikers could have gone on to score. Oh, wait.......

This may hae been touched on but I couldn't see it. Has the red been downgraded to a yellow or rescinded completely?

Rescinded altogether mate

It has been put down as something like wrongful dismissal I believe. Either way, the linesman who actually gave the abysmal advice to the referee should have a nice spell at the likes of Scunthorpe United for a few weeks....as should the ref for neglecting to see the blatantly obvious and handling the whole incident appallingly.

Not an anti-City conspiracy....just downright second rate officiating

We'll never get to hear it of course, but I'd be interested to hear what both the referee and the linesman were thinking there. If you watch the incident, the ref had his hand in his pocket before he even talked to the assistant. I think he had his mind made up that he was sending someone off even before the assistant had said a word.

Cheers.

Justice served. That said, I'm surprised. I expected it to get thrown out as most appeals which involve an off the ball confrontation do.
