If we're talking short term it surely has to be Holloway? Harry has such resources & really under Harry Spurs have only done what they should have done previously under Martin Jol or Father Damien Karras, so Harry is maybe doing about 10-15% better than average & got Chump's Lg due to the demise of Liverpool.

Holloway is over achieving by about 500%.

I recon both will soon hit a brick wall & be out of a job in a year or two though. Harry will bail out when things eventually go wrong, as they always do at every club when his team talks run out of effect, Holloway will start to suffer through lack of a defence & eventually be relegated, probably next season.

Hate to have to admit it but although not relevent du to lack of Englishness, Gollum is a class above the pair of them for keeping a bunch of fucking troglodytes competitive every season.

so many ridiculous statements in this post its untrue!!! Redknap has done a great job with spurs! they have allways had high targets and maybe been underachievers but they have never been true top 4 and maybe even title contenders as they are now....
True liverpool arent as good as they where but they still beat 16 other teams including ourselves to 4th spot!
plus harry has never managed a side as good as spurs before, really don't see why anything would go so wrong so quickly when he has continued to improve them since he took the job, after taking pourtsmouth further than anyone could ever imagine! sure they are in a mess now but thats not his fault IMO, the chairman deals with finance, harry spent what he was told he can and brought success. By far the best english manager for me.

Well that's your opinion & you're entitled to it but I recon that Spurs squad should finish in the top 5. Where do you think it should finish?

i'd forgotten about mclaren tbh but without looking up his record hasn't he only been successful at twente? he's not exactly doing to well at the mo either.

i'm sure there are some excellent english managers about but they don't seem to get much of a chance at top level these days.

nigel adkins at saints has a great record for instance. dave jones hasn't done badly either.

Keith Hill at Rochdale is a young manager to watch (his assistant is David Flitcroft, younger brother of Gary). He's worked miracles with no finances and threadbare attendances. In getting the Dale out of "the Rochdale division" last season, he achieved what no other manager had since 1968. They're now 11th in League One and two points outside the play-off places. Some of his signings, like Chris O'Grady and Craig Dawson, have been absolutely inspired.

Palace were sniffing around last week but eventually plumped for Dougie Freedman instead. Hill's been loyal to the Dale so far, but he HAS to be managing in the Championship within the next three years.

Allison also managed overseas including Portugal with Sporting. With the Lisbon club he won the league championship and the Portuguese Cup in 1981-1982. That would be the only Championship title won by Sporting until the 1999–2000 season, which meant that Allison is fondly remembered by Sporting fans.

My best current English Manager? Ian Holloway! Every Blackpool game is a thriller because of his fantastic way of playing football. Long life to Bobby Manc at Eastlands but Holly should be a great manager also for our beloved City!

Holloway is a bit of a goon but he gets his team playing fearless attacking football, and seems able to over achieve with fairly poor resources. It would be interesting to see how he gets on when the shine has worn off, and at a club with a bit of money for transfers and wages.
