Closing the third tear is a no brainer for me. Makes the ground look fuller which importantly is less embarrassing when people see the highlights on the telly. They were giving away t shirts in the family stand yesterday. Gave out about 20. I reckon every kid in that stand went home with at least one t shirt.

Agree. But the club should announce some kind of strategy with regard to this at the start of the season, ie 'unless extreme circumstances change this, the third tier will be closed for League Cup and FA Cup matches up to the quarter-final'. This should make people buy tickets further in advance, so the club can see the predicted attendances. I don't know if there's rules about it, but why can't the club sell seasoncards that also include, say, 3 home cup games for £20 more (with a refund if there aren't that many home games)? It would get some bums on seats.

I believe that when you get a season ticket at u***eds place you have to give your credit card details in and you are automatically billed for every cup game. I am not sure if this is still the case but it certainly was a few years back. I do not believe there is an option to not buy the FA cup tickets which could explain their high attendances in the cup.

They should let kids in free for games like last night, kids ticket free and accompanying adults for maybe 5-10 quid. Get them through the door and then there maybe some more money in terms of scran and bevvies but the main thing is fucking get people there to support the team and it also "hooks" more and more potential future City fans. We may as well as do all this shit now before the FPP and talks about expanding grounds.

I honestly don't get the whole "i go to every league game but don't bother/cant be arsed for the cup games" malarky. I know that it is a cost issue for some people but for those who could afford it I don't honestly understand the apathy. It was the same in that UEFA run under MH. Bamboozled me

i know the club is absolutely minted but i dont agree with this. we arent a charity. yes we want big crowds but the owners have pumped an insane amount of money and into the club as a whole. with the level of player they have purchased they have every right to think that fans will go to the ground and pay for tickets. for some reason its not happening though. bizarre. i never expected there to be a huge crowd by any means, but 21,000 isnt good.

dont get me wrong, but soon i could see the club go down the same way like arsenal, chelsea and them and that is to make season ticket holders pay for there seat in league cup and the fa cup. maybe thats the way forward with these rules coming in, because we will need extra money from gates if we need to get into champs league. hope not, but city fans do need to get off there bums and go to these games, and im not having a go at anyone, but if i can go from donny and get home at 11-00-11-20 then most people from manchester can go and get home at 10 ish

That happening is as certain as day follows night. It's just a matter of time. It will have the desired effect of higher attendances at the cup games too as those season ticket holders who don't go to cup games will, grudgingly, go to them seeing as though they have paid already.

i dont want this to happen, but the owners will need to see more bums on seats, and like you said, if money is taken out of your bank anyway people would go.

If we were allowed to open things up and have pay on the gate, the place would've been almost full. Alas, this doesn't seem to be something top flight clubs can do anymore. Or want to do.

As does the team for not getting the job over and done with on a weekend, as expected.
