last 3 games 10-7 agg score Boring Boring City

It makes me realise more that we went to Arsenal with a set plan and it worked to perfection. we are a fantastic team going forward, only negative is the defence conceeding 7 goals in 3 games, when the last 7 goals conceeded previous to this took 14 games. Should we worry, im not overly worried, i think we are looking a top top side with a manager who knows what he expects from his players and generally is getting it. But Kolorov, im just not sure about him.

I'm also having problems seeing Kolorov in the team. Lucky us that we got Kolarov.

Lescott is a weak link, if it hadn't been Wolves and Leicster I don't think we'd have seen him twice in a week.. Toure is having good season but has still got some costly errors to get out of his game, a la Richard Dunne. Seems to have a stormer but makes one crucial mistake each match. Kolarov looks like he's treading water sometimes when he's chasing back, Zabba is Zabba. Kompany has won us many points on his own this year, think last min block from Bia against Wolves, normally that would've flown in top corner. A work in progress!

I think Mancini will be pissed off, we are getting complacent. Maybe maybe it is a phase that is inevitable. We have gone from overly defensive and struggling to link with the attack, to being all round very good but too slow in the build up and poor finishing and now to attacking with great speed and finishing well but taking our eye off the ball and relaxing when we need to keep it tight.

Are these just the phases of the team learning ?

On the other hand it could just be that the opposition in all 3 of those games did not sit there and came out and had a real go at us, on the plus side we were able to score as they were not doing the usual parking of the bus, on the negative side they have shown up considerable vunerability. One part of that it is to do with being outnumbered in midfield. Wolves had a 4 man midfield and to me it showed they had the extra man there.

A lot of teams will look at these games and then try to decide if it is worth it or not to try and attack, yes we look vunerable but also we have one of the best counterattacking set ups known to man who will punish any team at any moment. The tactic, if it is one, of letting teams come out is not a bad idea as it solves the problem of trying to break them down if they are sat in their area.

It is certain that Mancini will not like this though, so i would expect him to do something about it. As i say it could be a part of the whole process of forging a team.. seeing how its character emerges and then tweaking it.. seeing some more and tweaking...

Judging by Mancini's remarks on ESPN post game last night we may see a considerable tightening up in the next few games, maybe even to the point of reverting some way back to what we had a month or so ago - he was not a happy man about our defending.

The defence is a worry at the moment, i preferred it when we were steely in defence and gave nothing away. I didn't like the bad old days when we were biting our fingernails even when we were 4-1 up.

Its great for the neutrals...I however cant stand us letting in goals the way we have been..Id rather us win 1 or 2-0 than go through another Wolves type of game.

Lescott is a fucking disaster..he was turned inside out last night and yes he was at fault for 2 of those goals imo.

The weakest link in the defence.....

I don't agree with you in general about Lescott, but in the last few games he has been the weak link, no doubt.

All central defensive partnerships need time and Toure and Kompany have been afforded that... and it shows. Unfortunately, Lescott is getting a sniff here and there and that can't be easy.

Lescott also improves dramatically with a run of games, as he showed last season.

I think the ref was at fault for the 2nd one if were being fair, he played a great one two with that lad.

It would be worth someone pointing out the second one Dyer was a good yard offside.
And the pen.. he dived over Pats's leg.

They got lucky twice i rekon. Still sh*t happens suppose.
Still cant believe Carlos missed the pen.

Not sure whether you say things these days to see who bites or just because you are genuinely that dense. Tough call really.

Really? I said this last time as well when discussing Carlos' penalties - he is shit penalty taker who has been lucky with these penalties he takes.
And now We've been lucky his two mistakes have not cost us but sooner or later it will. And I'm afraid that will rather be sooner than later.
