Dead easy , the two protagonists were in the pole dancing bar and one asked the other how city got on. Both being in a drunken stupor admiring the Naked stripper cum Pole dancer, collecting her underwear off the floor and neatly folding them. 0ne of them thought he heard the other one reply in disgust "titty bars". The other being happy amid the noise in the bar, replied "I suppose, we'll just have to be happy with the point then"

Ok I'm getting my coat....

How very entertaining......

As for people joining the army with violent tendencies, and being otherwise unemployable - I find these comments insulting, degrading and shocking, regardless of your political persuasion. I don't give a fuck about the politics either Carl or Socs believes in, but the fact is it is bang out of order for "ignorant and uneducated" comments about the people in the forces.

I joined as an officer at age 18 after perfect A-Level grades and served in Afghanistan. Of course, I obviously had violent tendencies, and was an uneducated thug. I don't know how I would have ever made it through 2 years of pilot training and 3 years service without my thuggish leanings. I joined because quite simply, I always wanted to serve my country. Had I not been fortunate enough to be selected for aircrew, I would have been just as happy with the Fusiliers

I don't go shouting about my service like others may, but....I make an exception in this case in order to correct the bollocks socs has spouted.......the people I both led and was led by during my time in the Army were there because they were proud of their country. Yes there are some who join up because they had little opportunity / talent for other things, but were it not for the Army, this country would have given up on some of these people, many of whom turn out to be the bravest and most honourable squaddies you will ever meet - the people on which YOU can really depend on.

I find the comments on this thread on this subject frankly astounding - and whilst I know the comments were an attempt to smear Carl, it was an epic fail and betrayed the general ignorance of the poster on the subject.

Nb, I don't give a shit about Arsenal, Mancio4ever or United drawing at spurs

Yep, that was my point. There's definitely the odd psycho in there as well though. Good job they have such nice officer types to help them turn their lives around and drill some sense into them about serving their country. Jolly good.

If you want to tear each other to bits in personal arguments then fair enough but is there really any reason to go from that to picking holes out of people who lay their lives on the line, who have the total respect of many, whether it fits in with their political ideals or not?

I honestly don't see why it's here in a thread about City v Arsenal.

I must have been quicker in acknowledging but I'm currently sidetracked more then usual.

I am the SOLE and entirely CULPRIT for this this thread having come well off the border. I
I sincerely APOLOGIZE with OP, the excellent John@staustel, for having hijached an excellent thread on a serious issue.
I feel particularly ashamed after the righteous remarks I read from Ronk and Teddy, in particular, but not only.

I'd love to have more time an more languange fluency, but in a nut shell:

I only looking to get some respect to my genuine attempt to be a welcomed member of this board, which I love and I would be proud to be part of.
I am not Bambi. I have no problem whatsoever with banter and/or even harsh debating or even being condemned to be "tortured, raped" by Carl, if You find I will deserve it in the future. I do have a thick skin and a decent sense of humour, even if I am not able to render it with my basical language.

I do particularly want to apologize with Carl for having driven a few misrespect (possibly?) to his decent Person, while I was only intended to repay him with the same harsh money he and Brite threw at me. I mean I cannot cope with my ideas being deliberately snobbed or myself being treated like an ignorant, unable to interact with different people and different cultures. ONCE ASSUMED THAT I WOULD HATE TO RECEIVE ANY DIFFERENT, SOFTER/SMOOTHER TREATMENT THAN ANY OTHER ACCEPTED MEMBER.

I also want to be quick to state that, while I love to consider myself a "peaceful" progressive chap, I DO NOT HAVE ANY ISSUE, on the contrary, I HAVE PLENTY OF RESPECT FOR ALL THE SPECIAL PERSONS WHO SERVE THEIR COUNTRIES IN THE ARMY/NAVY/AIR FORCES.

If You want to believe me, I am quite a bitchy cunt, like every legal actors, definitely a prick like Carl and ever more but most of all I am a wannabe, in the meaning that since my youth I always wanted to be an Anglosaxon while I am only a "Latin Clown" like every member of a Country that, after having invented the Codes of Written Laws and spread the world with aqueducts, has fucked itself up to let a mr. Berluskoni rule our doom! So, if You wanna address me, You are now awere of what the issue are.
Just do not snob me and help me to be part of You.

Sorry again John for having ruined, even if unwittingly, Your serious thread.

BTW, Tony: I do not give 2 shits if Mancini gets some deserved goes. Actually, I will be leading a Mancio out Brigade if, now that he has his own personnel (at last with the possible adding of the ever wanted David Luiz), he won't deliver the League Title within the end of the next season and the Chumps withing next 3/4 seasons at latest! Mark my words. City first, personal loves later, by far: that's my first argument.

EDIT: Carl: while I am an average bastard, who tend to become worser and more cynical getting overaged... MY PERSONAL FRIEND Socrates is a SPECIAL, SENSIBLE PERSON, who helped loads of Human Beings without looking neither for a greeting... If You a looking for a sexual turist or whatsoever other scum of a person, look at me and wash Your mouth before addressing Jon. Cheers.

Mancio my friend. No apology necessary to me as any thread can go off on a tangent.

But I always find if you're getting a little angry it's best to switch off and go do something else. Log in the next day and you wont even read the replies, so you wont get angrier, just move onto another subject.

The great thing about this site is we all have different opinions, that's life. But lets all leave it at that eh? Maybe I'm too life-experienced now but there's no need to get upset about it at all, nor for personal insults by anyone on here.

There is no need to 'get accepted' Mancio, you already are. But these sort of arguments never have a happy ending.

SMILE!

Nice one Mancio4E, respect from me for that.

Seems i might have had a point when saying that it reflected worse on you to have Socs as a friend, i think you proven it.
Well in.

Now back to that fantastic 0-0 at the Emirates..

Ok, think that's it for now.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
