I think you'll find it was Johnson who had the £1M England cap clause, not Hart.

Told you it wasn't a million clause.

So Hart wasn't as much of a bargain as people think then.

And shame ronk, even having the link you can't tell the difference between £1.5M and £1.6M.

I never actually said it was a million clause, except in your imagination. I got the link afterwards and was going from memory because I've seen different figures mentioned at times. You hardly think I'm a regular reader of the Shropshire Star...

Still a great bargain though, that clause was a no risk clause.

Take him out of the team and we're fvcked.

Morrison from the old era, brilliant inspirational signing - he grabbed us by the bollocks and instilled a winning mentality, which was hugely influential on where we are today.

funnily enough it was morrison from the earlier era that stood out for me. Think he only played about 50 games for us but my memory is that we'd probably never have climbed the 2 divisions without him at the time.

He scored a couple of great free kicks and never complained. Great pro. I liked him.
Anyone have an idea how he is doing now?

So are 99% of your posts, but I won't make any money if you fire off.

If you make a profit on a player, that represents good business. Look at the hits we took on Benjani (left for free), Petrov (left for free) etc. Both players came for higher transfer fees and will have been on higher wages.

If we're going back to those days then I agree; Morrison was one of the most important signings in the history of the club, possibly THE most important when you consider how various events have fallen into place since then.

Going back further in to our history, the best cheap signing has to be Tony Book. Cost us little, captained us to umpteen trophies and then managed the team to a league Cup win too.

Only 5 minutes in the league and 2 x 90 minutes in the Coppa so far. He scored a beauty though:

2 freekicks from what seemed like a handful tries for City and another one in merely 2 games for Lazio = serious skill

A commentator mentioned we'd triggered another payment for Joe quite recently, it was either total appearances or league appearances. Assuming he'd got his facts right of course. (and by recently it was within the last three games, going by [my dodgy] memory)
