MJ

Looks like he's staying. Doesn't seem to be any interest in taking him on loan because of his lack of match fitness according to SKy Sports. I'm a bit surprised but maybe he'll be an option for us off the bench in say 4-6 weeks. Presumably he'll be playing in EDS matches regularly from now on.

Sky did confirm that we're after a winger.

Would he have to go in the transfer window if it was a loan to a lower league anyway though?

Fair point Ted. I don't know the rules to be honest. You're saying that they're different outside the Premiership?

I think there's something about that. I don't know but have we not been loaning players out during the season? I'm sure some of the loan deals we've done have been between windows. I don't know if this is the last day when such deals can be done though, because obviously there must be a cutoff point somewhere, otherwise teams could just loan a player for the last two games etc.

They can't do any permanent transfers but clubs from the Championship down can still sign free agents and do short term loans

Apparently we don't want to loan him as the club wish to oversee his rehabilitation? makes sense to me,and, given we don't appear to be making any further signings,i'd suggest we may need him here.....

I agree, our wanting to oversee his rehab makes perfect sense to me too. But I really doubt that the club is counting on or even hoping for MJ to play in the prem this season. I think that the aim is at next season for him, I mean he hasn't even played a full 90 minutes for the EDS yet.

If we could get either MJ or Assulin off the bench and contributing any time this season I'd be delighted. They both have talent. However, that's quite an ask. MJ's been injured for so long and Assulin's only 19. It's imperative they're given as much EDS time as possible but MJ in particular can't be rushed. The last thing he needs is another injury....

Vieira?
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

If he was fit, Milner, as he's a much better version of a box to box midfielder.

Would have been nice for him to go on loan somewhere where he could still check in at carrington occasionally, but also get some games (stockport, oldham (are you listening dickov?) etc). If we stay in both cups, MJ could be important for us in the last few weeks of the season when the games are coming thick and fast.
