Well it looks like we're going to be seeing a lot of him now we've got rid of Ade & AJ is injured; Bob will be resting the shit out of the other strikers whenever possible.

I didn't like the simmering hostility toward him that seemed to be coming from the fans v County. It's not his fault we've been put in the position of having to use him, so whatever we say on here, we should make the effort to get some performances out of the twat when he's on the pitch, by giving him some support. I think he's fairly shit but I do believe he's doing his best. If he gets a goal, you never know, he may become worth a shirt.

Haven't read the thread, but i can imagine what has been said quite easily.. something like a waste of space.

I wouldn't mind if i never saw him in a City shirt again. There is a very small outside chance that something will click with him at some point. i rekon he could have had about 8 goals if he had been passed to at the crucial moment. He can get into good positions unmarked (although if he wasn't the opposite of dangerous, that probably wouldn't happen), but no-one passes to him. So if for some strange reason that changed and he bagged a goal or two, he might both wake up and force his way into the minds of his teammates. It's a bit chicken and egg though init.. and he has got till summer to bring about some change, otherwise even Bob will forget he exists.

A good piece by Gary Owen in the MEN for those who haven't seen it. He suggests that Mancini remembers a couple of good performances by Jo for CSKA, that he needs to get real about Jo's uselessness and perhaps give Guidetti a go in a match like Sunday's. Jo did make one contribution. There was a good run on the right and a cross which might have come to something. Other than that I saw nothing.

Gary also heaps praise on Micah and rightly so for his performance. I can't recall him putting in two such good crosses in any game. One goal resulted and Yaya perhaps should have scored with the other. Kolarov put in a cracker when he came on. If these two can go on putting in that sort of quality delivery we'll get plenty of goals. But Micah's got to do it in the League. Wednesday at St Andrews would be a great start.

I've said exactly the same thing about Jo's performances v Inter being the reason Bob rates him, in this thread. I think it's fair comment too that, as BBS says, he could have had a fair few goals if people had passed to him when completely open. I'd temper that with the fact that he missed from one yard last time though!

What position did Jo play when he had those good performances? I actually think if he is to be given any chance at all it has to be as a striker and probably one of 2 up top and NOT as any kind of wide player or somebody playing off the front man.

No Doug, his successful spell came as a second striker. He needs the room to.... Do what he does.
