That was the standard piss poor rags away performance that they've produced in almost every game, but for once, when they upped the pace a bit, the oppo didn't shit themselves & hand them a couple of piss easy goals. That should be loss No 5 or 6 not loss No 1.

I think the rest are coming mate........

After playing us, they have Wigan, Chelsea and Liverpool away consecutively.

They have been living on belief alone to get them through games upto now, because they sure as hell havent been living on the quality of their players or football. If that belief takes a dive, it takes away the biggest tool bacon has in his armoury

The rags have a shallow squad they have punched above their weight this season. Fuckers will play for a draw against us. Have a funny feeling that arsenil will take it, with us battling it out for 3rd.

Good Times.

Guys its only 1 defeat, and to a side that beat us and chelsea. I fear for a backlash next week, this will give them more incentive to win.

They just have to try and attack us, and it won't end pretty for them. If there's one thing we can always do is hit hard on the counter, when teams leave us space. What we can't do well is to unlock a tight defence like Everton or Birmingham at COMS.

Can only echo this, it will in truth be anyone's game, but as the rags are wary of us and tbh us of them, it is more than likely to be a repeat of the coms game in style with neither side willing to throw it to the wind. If City had got all the strikers settled in it might be a different story, but we are still a way off that yet so it is likely to be security first.
As for the rags losing and a likely backlash, it can be argued that would play more into our hands, by them trying to push harder than they might of otherwise and just that little bit more open to getting caught out. In essence the derby is the worst game possible for them to have to play after that loss, imo. The rags need their best professional performance and dont want to be smarting after losing their record, trying to fix problems in training all week going into a crucial 6pt derby.

That's only partially true Gillie, me old mate. There are several on here who were around in those far off days. But even so, there are plenty who have been through various promotion races. Those promotion races are exactly the same, just at a lower level.

The rags have 13 games left 39pts at stake. Within that group of games, they have the derby (anyone's guess), Chelsea, L'Pool, Arsenal away and chelsea at the swamp. Add to that, the extra pressure of any FA Cuip games and don't forget their CL challenge starts to get tougher. Injuries, suspension?...I don't know the future mate but we all can see that there is still plenty of space in the games to come for slip ups, losses of form and a few dodgey results.

Think of it as driving down a strange road at night with the headlights on. You get reasonably clear vision for the next few yards in front of you but beyond that all is dark and you haven't clue what is likely to be around te next corner. Football is just like that mate.
It would be so wrong at this point to consider the unknown road we have yet to reach will be full of potholes. It could just as easily be a smooth as fuck.

It is well within the bounds for the rags to fucl up yet, they have got a good number of difficult games. City could help them on their way to a rough patch, of that there is no doubt after Wolves bit their arses. Thinking about it there is really far more pressure on the rags than City, a second defeat for them would be a serious event at this stage, for the loss of the pts gap they had and maybe even more than that the psychology.
