My thoughts are that what City did today will be history tomorrow. It'd be great to start an archive of fans pictures, memories, match previews/reports and the like, for future generations mainly. This would mean that younger forum users like myself would be able to contribute too :-)

The support is great but has anyone got any ideas or thoughts on this they would like to chuck in?

Best star at the start I reckon. Settle once and for all the foundation date for the club. More than one person attepti g this would make for interesting results.

Build a City history website, attempting to cover all aspects of City's past. The ManCitystats site has not been updated since the death of it's owner some time ago. That site still remains a credit to him as probably the best city reference sit. It remains unfinished and as a mark of respect. I would like to ask permission for a City Society to continue the great work that was started. It would serve as a fabulous reference point for us now and future generations.

Is that not your starting point mate? Contact the son(?) of the fella who started up the ManCitystats site to see if you can come to arrangement to use that as a base to move on from. Having that rather than a blank sheet of paper might help focus minds on how to take this all forward.

Sorry for not getting back on here but as it was initially only the vague idea of a City Historical Society, I thought I'd take time out to give it some deeper thought, do a bit of reasearch to see how others have done it and attempt to put some flesh on the bones, to make it more concrete.
I have made a few phone calls and put out some feelers regarding support and the practicalitied of setting this up and once I get the answers I need and my thoughts organised, I will set up an intial meeting.

The one thing I do believe is that it is a viable idea and once set up MUST be accessible and inclusive to all fans to contribute to.

,,,,"work in progress"I have been in touch with Radio Manchester and explained what we are trying to do. The initial response seems quite positive and they are going to get back to me. I am hoping that we will get some time on the "Blue Tuesday" City programme to widen the publicity.
Have made an atempt to contact the club but my ear dropped off while hanging on the phone...Trying again.
