I've enjoyed it.
I also think its been a good education for us that will put us in good shape for next years CL.
Its also brought about getting our crowd excited looking at the pictures of the peeps doing the Poznan and the number of threads there have been on it.

It's knock out now so stop your whining and watch us win it.

It's better than the Carling Cup isn't it? Much better experience for the players to play away at places like Aris or Lech Poznan or Juventus or Dynamo Kiev. Don't see what the problem is.

You tell him chief!

Its an extra game for us to watch our favourite club.

All competitions are welcome until we fucking win one. Even then, they're still fucking welcome IMO.

I think longball = wankered miserable wanker tonight?

Let me think how many years when we haven't been in Europe, not even safe from delegation at this stage in the season, let alone being in top four........

Me I am happily wankered, so either you are single with no chance of a lay or your missus has the hump with you for being wankered?

My post/reply being as fooking pointless asyour topic?

Blimey, no european footie for an eternity and someone's moaning about it. Yearning to be Spuds eh? Only one answer to that.

Personally i couldn't give a flying fuck about the mighty Champions League if we aren't in it. The Europa League. however, is very important to me.

Well i kind of like this competition because we get to go to places where we would never dream of booking our summer holidays to. Driving half the length of Austria visiting relations on the way to end up in a beautiful city like Salzburg, getting chased by wild dogs at 5-00 in the morning walking down the beach road in Greece, getting locked in a ground in Italy because around 100 Juventus fans had gathered outside and being told that we are being locked in for "their" safety, and experiencing the loudest ground in the world in Poland.
Bring on Ukraine, looking forward to it.

It's a great experience, being part of it, and being involved is a big step towards getting ready for CL next season. I have really enjoyed it so far.

I agree, as there are as many games in the Europa as the Champions League, this will give us a very good indication for how a long season will affect our squad's endurance.

Was that all the Juve fans that were at the match?

I am glad the comp. exists so we can practice playing in europe. I have also enjoyed the comp both times we've played it as of late. And yeah, beats any cup trophy if we were to win it!

Much prefer Euro/champ league over the proposed 2 tier league system for europe too.

It's wrong that the third place clubs in the Cl get to have another go in the Europa League. If that was changed we would have one less round in what is a very drawn out competition. The Thursday matches before crucial Sunday League matches will have to be managed carefully because nothing can be allowed to get in the way of our primary objective this season which must be CL qualification.

All that said who can forget the fantastic atmosphere at the home match against Hamburg? I hope the Club will consider another cut price evening for the quarters or at least the semis, assuming we make them. And looking further forward victory in Dublin would end 35 years of hurt. Let's do it.
