Jermain Defoe

Went through some stats and since december 2009 this feller has scored 4 league goals. Just like any other speed merchant, once they hit 28 years, they are in rapid decline. See Owen, Michael.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Bellamy didn't do bad for us and he must have been over 29 when he joined us.

Never been a top player imo. Always had spells of brilliance followed by shite. He's still getting the chances but blazing them over the bar etc. Next season mabe he'll score for fun, then dry up again. Typical English forward unfortunately; totally unreliable.

I agree. I never considered him a top finisher at any stage. But his pace has always provided him with enough opportunities.

I don't think he will gain his former form anymore though. Speed merchants are done by the time they turn 30.
