Isn't it exciting!
Douglas Higginbottom has stolen my thunder a bit. Our capacity to bottle it against the league's better sides is the reason why we are having this crisis of confidence at the moment, and it's also reflected in the odds. Generally, we can thrash relegation fodder, and mid-table sides as long as they're a disorganised rabble, but we've also been found wanting against sturdy, well oganised and intransigent teams. Tonight's game is one we were very capable of winning, and winning well, in the first half of the season, but do we have the energy now? Are the players committed enough? Is our overall standard high enough, and is Mancini good enough? While Villa seem to have improved, they shouldn't send shivers down any spines. Fact is, that after the Fulham debacle, if we fail to win games like tonight's we don't deserve top 4 - and probably won't get it, never mind win a trophy.
