Training Wednesday 9/3

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Wed Mar 09, 2011 12:27 pm

The same group out training today with the addition of Chris Chantler. He must have drawn the short straw after playing 90 minutes last night. An array of cameras there too as part of the pre Europa game commitment and they saw Mancini going through the regular formation/shape stuff to start with.

Then it was into a mixture of handball fun on one pitch and 2 touch football on a 5 a side pitch with small goals.Carminati had them siwtching from one to the other whenever he felt like it just to keep them on their toes. The handball changed to football and,as last week Micah showed off as a keeper and this time it was Kolo at the other end trying to emulate him.Plenty of fun out there today although when Micah went down under a challenge (initially by Vinnie I think) he didnt seem too impressed when others just piled on for a laugh.

Plenty of stoppages for stretches during all this and then a break for some specific training routines with the physios. It all ended with a 10 v 9 game on half a pitch. Fairly cramped of course but it was a competitive 10 or 15 minutes. The top goal looked like being from Gaz Baz with a beauty into the top corner but Mario beat it. Nicking the ball off Vieira he got a return pass let it run towards the keeper, dummied him and then chipped it gently over his prone body.

Just under an hour today but they looked in good nick and good spirits ready for what is going to be a tough trip to Kiev.Kidd was looking forward to it and typically said "it beats work doesn't it"

Mj is the new invisible man. With all the new players and his injuries is he real worth the bother anymore?

Have I missed something? The last I saw of MJ, was on the bench against Villa, when we were all screaming for him to come on.
Now, he is nowhere to be seen. Did he get an injury sitting on the bench, like splinters in the bum?
WTF is happening here?

Think doug said in yday's thread they were leaving after training! Maybe I made that up though.

I'm pretty sure Uefa rules say you've to be in the city of the game at least 24hrs before the game
