SWP's last start?

Tonight could well have been SWP's last start for City. And I for one thought he was awful. He has lost his pace that was vital to all that he could offer. He is low on confidence and so his passing and delivery were worse than ever. He was up against Ian Harte, and could not dominate even him. I don't think Mancini will trust him in any of our remaining games.

Such a shame but he is gone.

For me, if yesterday's performance was the game to judge him on, he performed well.
It was a 7 out of 10 for me which was good enough considering he hasn't played that long for a while.

After having only seen the highlights SWP looked good and very involved. So was he actually crap for the 80 other minutes of the game?

Basically, yeah, he was. Not nice to say. This is the guy that used to get my out of me seat every time he touched the ball.

Whilst I don't think Dzeko is one dimensional I find it hard to believe that he was bought without considering his aerial threat. I think Doug mentioned that Mancini does want crosses coming in but the players aren't delivering. That means, the way we usually set up, Kolarov and Richards or whoever else plays at full back aren't doing what he wants. It's strange because Kolarov clearly can put in a good cross and so can Boateng. Micah also put in a couple of peaches against Notts County.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not in favour of a one dimensional attack. I'm looking for goal threat from corners, free kicks, one twos through the middle, balls over the top, low crosses, high crosses etc.

I agree pretty much with all of that. There's no reason you can't play a passing game & also have crosses & set pieces, none at all. Bob did most definitely say he wants people to get crosses in to Dzeko.
