Onuoha happy at Sunderland, for time being
On-loan Sunderland defender Nedum Onuoha feels at home in the North-east but admits his long-term future remains uncertain.
The former England Under-21 international joined Steve Bruce's side last August after finding himself surplus to requirements in Manchester City's expensively assembled squad.
Bruce is keen to keep the defender permanently but no movements have been made on that front so far and, although Onuoha is happy on Wearside, he accepts his future may not be decided for some time.
"It's difficult to say I belong to City because I don't even have a [squad] number there," he said. "I definitely feel a part of this squad at Sunderland. It has started to feel different as the season has gone on. I did not really know what was going to happen when I first signed but I can't make any decisions so I have just had to accept it. I know there are a maximum of seven more games now for me here. At the end of the season I will sit back and think how this went.
"Then I will start pre-season, if it is at City to begin with, and see how things go from there. I am still their player so I am in their hands."
Onuoha's priority, however, is to help Sunderland end their run of seven matches without a win, which has left them six points above the relegation zone. With eight teams below them it seems unlikely Sunderland will have to worry about relegation.
"We are desperate for that first win. For me personally, my focus is on what is in front of us," Onuoha said. "There are a lot of players thinking we need to get as many points as possible before the end of the season. I feel more relaxed thinking about trying to catch someone rather than those trying to catch us."

Arsenal Make £22m Plans to Rebuild Defence: Wenger Targets Premier League Duo
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is hoping to secure two Premier League signings to help beef up his defence as the Gunners manager looks to make successful moves for Man City keeper Shay Given and Bolton centre back Gary Cahill.
The North London club are reportedly in search of a reliable goalkeeper having seen Manuel Almunia, Lukasz Fabianksi and youngster Wojciech Szczesny all make elementary mistakes this season. Arsene Wenger had attempted to sign Fulham veteran Mark Schwarzer last summer and has been linked with moves to capture Liverpool custodian Pepe Reina.
Having made enquiries in the past Wenger is now hoping to persuade Man City to sell Irish international Shay Given this summer. The former Newcastle United man has found himself frozen out at Eastlands and has not played a single minute of Premier League action this season but there are doubts that Roberto Mancini may not be willing to sell to a rival club.
Wenger also hopes to haggle with Bolton over their somewhat inflated £25m valuation of centre back Gary Cahill. The consistent defender is now a firm part of Fabio Capello’s England set-up but the Arsenal manager is not known for spending such high fees and will look to secure the 25 year old for around £15m.
Arsenal’s defence has been uncharacteristically wobbly this season with new signings Laurent Koscielny and Sebastien Squillaci both failing to inspire confidence and with Thomas Vermaelen still out with a long term injury the need for defensive reinforcements are as pressing as they were last summer when Wenger tried and failed to sign Everton’s Phil Jagielka.

Adebayor blast at sick Spurs fans
SPURS face a £20,000 UEFA fine after fans aimed sick chants at Emmanuel Adebayor.
The former Arsenal striker scored twice as Real Madrid smashed 10-man Tottenham 4-0.
Disciplinary chiefs are waiting for the offical observer's report and if he confirms what Adebayor heard from the stands, Spurs will be charged.
Adebayor said: "We have done everything we can showing the red card to racism. But people are still into it, that's part of life.
"Samuel Eto'o and other big players have spoken about it, they speak better than I do, but it's not stopped them, so what can you do?"
Spurs operate a zero tolerance policy towards racism at White Hart Lane and the chants aimed at ridiculing Adebayor's parents will disgust the club.
Despite Real's 4-0 win in the Bernabeu, Adebayor is ready for Spurs to attempt an improbable comeback in Wednesday's return.
He added: "We won 4-0, that's a big step towards the semis. But nothing is guaranteed yet.
"When you want to kill a snake, you have to cut the head off - and I hope we can cut Tottenham's head off in London."

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini laments the absence of Wayne Rooney from the forthcoming FA cup clash with Manchester United. The Italian also hails England international keeper Joe Hart as 'the best keeper in England'.

Man City's Mancini happy for Real Madrid loanee Adebayor
Emmanuel Adebayor's two-goal performance for Real Madrid in last night's Champions League quarter-final first leg pleased Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini.
The Togo striker, on loan with Real from City, netted the first two goals to help down Tottenham 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu and the Italian tactician admits he is happy for the ex-Arsenal star.
"I am happy for him. I am happy that he scored two goals and I hope he will continue to score goals," he told Sky Sports News.
But Mancini said he was still unsure whether Adebayor would be back at Eastlands next season.
"At the end of the season we will see. If he wants to stay, he can. I am happy for him because Manu is a good player," he added.
