It's not definitely closed. Fire's out and they are assessing damage to bridge. I imagine they'll have something open, even if it's restricted lanes and a weight restriction, so the coaches might go M40, but car's may be ok.
I'd check before travelling in the morning - google maps with traffic info, http://www.highways.gov.uk/mobile, free HA iPhone app, @HAtraffic_seast has 15 min updates

According to the City official website it is
http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/FA-Cup-count ... semi-final
We are advising fans driving to London for the FA Cup semi final that the M1 motorway will be closed for the rest of the weekend from Junction 4 to Junction 1.
This is due to a fire near Junction 1 in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Highways Agency advises that the M40 and M25 be used as alternative route to Wembley Stadium. Please allow extra time for your journey

Blue Man Dan. wrote:Why anyone would use the M1 to go to Wembley anyway is beyond me! Take the M6 ( roadworks are now finished at Birmingham) then head south on the M42 to join on to the M40 which takes you within a bollocks slap of Wembley, no messing.
The M1 already has a fucking HUGE set of roadworks down the bottom end north of Luton that would add time not to mention the roadworks on the new bridge where the M6 joins the M1 at the Catthorpe interchange. even without all these roadworks i would still take the M40.... (this comes from a lot of experience driving down sarf AND i have been working in Wembley in the last few weeks :)

Spot on, plus this way you approach/leave the ground from the west, which means you should be able to have a reasonably munich/aggro free getaway from the match if you are parked that side of the stadium
Fucking madness going down M1 roadworks or not
