cup final ticket corruption

The price is bad enough but it doesn't half get my goat that we're all scratching around for the tickets , the details of which are not yet released by the club, and yet millions of the little buggers are advertised on the electric interweb instantly at prices that make your eyes water, making money for criminals and thieves. I hate the way the FA allow this corruption. What can we do?

Yeah surely that is touting at its best? £55 tickets selling for £400. It's a crying shame that so many loyal fans of both teams wont get to go to the game because the price is just too much for them.

They are owned by rich people who are Wembley season ticket holders and if they dont fancy going to any particular match they hawk them out through these ticket agencies.

And whats more, because tickets in those sections are not on sale, there can be no accusation of touting - because there is no "face value" for tickets in Club Wembley for example.

It is advertised on the Club Wembley site that if you want to sell your ticket back, you can do so through Club Wembley.....however Club Wembley don't appear to have any form of reselling method, therefore they will hawk them through agencies to the highest bidder to keep the ST holder happy.

The FA know damned well what goes on, but they've got their money from Club Wembley, so they don't give a rats arse.

On the other hand, I once paid £500 to watch Hatton v Mayweather through an agency, so I suppose its down to how much you think the event is worth.

I paid for mine and my dads airtickets from South Africa for his 60th birthday and at this stage it looks like a match ticket is going to be costing us almost the same as our flights. Then we have the added costs while we are there and it all adds up to cost a small fortune.

I am holding out for something a lot cheaper than £400 each but can see me remortgaging the house to pay for match tickets. There is now way we are flying from the arse end of the world to watch it in a pub in London.

I have to find two tickets, the old man was in tears when i told him after the semi final what his birthday present was.

Whilst I sympathise a certain amount about your predicament, wasn't it a bit unwise to promise something you may not be able to deliver?
I'm sure that there are several thousand season ticket holders who would like to be able to go to the match as much as you do, but due to the rules regarding tickets won't be able to do so without purchasing from one of the agencies. Many of the tickets available through them will be, as mentioned above, Club Wembley season tickets, others may have been 'promised' from varying bodies.
As you have already splashed out for the flights, I would suggest that the agents would be your only way of meeting your commitments, unless your appeals for a 'cheaper' source fall onto a sympathetic ear and one of the qualifying season ticket holders decides your case is more deserving than theirs, even after 30 years of waiting!

Tell him you brought him back to the home country just to be here. City in the final is merely a bonus.

He'll be used to watching on tele, he'll be more than happy to celebrate with all the Blues in London.

can't understand how the FA can only give 25,000 to each club, we had more for the semi final!!

with the knobs at the FA only giving this amount to each club, it means that 40,000 tickets are going else where.

some will be ok, but most will be rubbing there hands at how much money they can make!!

this does my fcuking head in, as it deny's proper fans the chance to their team in a cup final

my opinon is that we should get a min of 35,000 and stoke get 25,000 as our average attendance is well above stoke's

The reality:

25,000 to the teams who have slogged it through.

40,000 to some Twat-Holes who don't have a clue.

How is less than 30% (28 I reckon) fair?

Take out of city's allocation, all those tickets needed for the club officials and players families etc...then the sponsors and club partners that put money into the club...then take out those that go to the rich movers and shakers that work alongside the club...and there ain't a lot left.

It is the same at every club at every cup final....the fans always did, do and will get shafted.

Yeah it was always going to be a gamble booking flights without having match tickets but I had faith that I would get tickets and if it came to it, as a last resort I would go the agency route no matter what the cost within reason.

However I am happy to report that I have secured two tickets for me and the old man through my wifes contacts in the sports retail industry. So the dream coninues for us. I hope to meet some of you some how and hope that you manage to get tickets. I am really counting my blessings now.

Agree we and Stoke should get more but this is the way the Football Association Cup works!

All football leagues, referees associations etc associated with the Football Association can apply for two tickets that's where they all go. Day trippers who never go to a regular season game. It's not fair but that's the FA Cup system giving the opportunity to all sporting clubs the chance to see top flight football, just a pity it couldn't have been the 1st round proper or 3rd round instead of the final.

As John said real fans have and always will get shafted!

Well in. It's not up to us to decide how many tickets go to business contacts, but it's good when they go to true blues.
