Training Monday 9/5

Postby Douglas Higginbottom » Mon May 09, 2011 7:07 pm

The session today started at 5.30 but basically everybody you would hope for and expect was out there. The one difference I thought today was when Mancini got them all together for a chat at the start. I think it was a little longer than usual and it included the keepers which isnt always the case.

Once they got going they didn't extend themselves much which feels quite right at this stage of the season and with a game 2 days ago and another tomorrow.Just jogging, a few exercises in and out of cones and poles and then keep ball circles. That didn't go for the keepers though and especially Joe Hart who worked extremely hard.

The sports science guys will have done all their work and I am sure dictated how much was done and which players if any needed a stronger session. They will probably be the ones that took part in the 5 a side game whilst the others did one or two extra little exercises and keep ball circle stuff. The only football was a 5 a side game and the rest ( maybe the team for tomorrow!)either watched or went inside eraly.

Everyone seemed in great spirits despite Saturday.

Doug, this can't be right because a journo on Talkshite this morning said Bob is running the players into the ground & tiring them out, wheras Ferguson just does light training.

Surely he can't be lying through his teeth & just making up shit to show us in a bad light ?

A journo making things up Ted ,what are you going to come up with next? Yesterday at training I had to endure a rag fan chatting to the photographer nearest to me about their seats at the swamp and the view they have bla bla bla. No surprise that the only pictures they want of City training are sensational ones that can make negative headlines.

Journalism and Talkshite are not related to one another in any way.

I'd rest a few tonight as we should still be able to get a result.
